Tuesday, April 15: Lunch at Paperfish Sushi

What to Do in Miami This Week [Apr 14-20] - Higher Ground, PaperFish Sushi Bar, Primo's, RED South Beach, weekly - April 2025

Lunch at Paperfish Sushi takes an unexpected turn into indulgent territory with a creation that reads like poetry and tastes like sin. Trust us, the Wagyu truffle burger is no mere midday bite. An 8 oz patty of grass-fed Wagyu anchors this masterpiece, crowned with buttery shiitake mushrooms that melt into the tender patty. A whisper of truffle aioli seeps into every crevice, its earthy aroma lingering long after the last bite. And, of course, crispy golden fries on the side.

It’s a dish that refuses to play by the rules of lunch, made to be savored slowly, ideally with a frosty Japanese lager in hand, and nowhere to be but exactly here. If you’re looking to balanceit out with something a bit more refreshing—get the house salad, an elevated version of the sushi bar classic, dressed in a rich sesame sauce.

Wednesday, April 16: Dinner Specials at Primo’s

What to Do in Miami This Week [Apr 14-20] - Higher Ground, PaperFish Sushi Bar, Primo's, RED South Beach, weekly - April 2025

This Wednesday evening, we’re slipping into something deliciously indulgent at Primo’s with the unveiling of their latest specials menu. The star of the evening is perhaps the velvety cavatelli—a shell-shaped pasta paired with a luscious bisque sauce and topped with scallops and shrimp. Another taste teaser is the boquerones—marinated anchovies drenched with luscious Italian herbs and olive oil, served with warm focaccia.

For the final act, make sure to stick around for the passionfruit panna cotta. Tart, tropical, and impossibly light, it’s the kind of dessert that demands silence… and maybe a second round.

Saturday, April 19: Drag Queen-Hosted Adult Easter Egg Hunt at Higher Ground

What to Do in Miami This Week [Apr 14-20] - Higher Ground, PaperFish Sushi Bar, Primo's, RED South Beach, weekly - April 2025

With Easter strutting its pastel self around the corner, here’s one cheeky little celebration that deserves a prime spot in your schedule this week. Save the brunches for tomorrow—tonight, Beats and Treats at Higher Ground (Arlo Wynwood) is flipping Easter on its ears with a high-octane, adults-only bash that’s anything but traditional.

On April 19 from 4–8 p.m., they’re teaming up with Wynwood Pride for the second annual Beats & Treats: Adult Easter Party—a no-cover, full-throttle egg hunt for grownups who like their springtime with a splash of sass and a palo santo-infused Lush Life cocktail. Expect fabulous prizes from local darlings like Sana Skin Studio, Legacy Fit, and even golden tickets for a luxe weekend stay at Arlo Wynwood. The vibe is pure Miami, with DJ Lagrimas de Oro spinning and the fierce FKA TWINK serving looks and attitude. See you there!

Higher Ground is located at 2217 NW Miami Ct Third Floor, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website

Sunday, April 20: Easter Brunch at RED South Beach

What to Do in Miami This Week [Apr 14-20] - Higher Ground, PaperFish Sushi Bar, Primo's, RED South Beach, weekly - April 2025

Celebrate Easter in style with a lavish brunch affair at RED South Beach. This year, Chef Peter unveils a one-day-only à la carte menu that’s keeping us on our toes. Expect a refined take on brunch favorites inspired by the brightness of spring and the indulgence of the holiday.

Highlights include tender Wagyu paired with eggs, a rich lobster pot pie enveloped in cognac cream, and timeless RED South Beach appetizers like fresh oysters on the half shell paired with mignonette sauce or fusilli col buco pasta laced in truffle cream and topped with more black truffle shavings. Each dish is a nod to sophistication, best enjoyed with a glass of chilled champagne, a bold vintage, or a beautifully balanced cocktail. Space fills quickly for this annual celebration, so reserving your table in advance is highly advised.
