Wednesday, January 15: Lunch at Costa Med

What to Do in Miami This Week [Jan 13-19] - Costa Med, Kissaki, Lobster Shack, ViceVersa - January 2025

If you can take a bit of a longer lunch break and make the 15-minute drive over to Key Biscayne, we totally recommend it. Tucked away on Crandon Boulevard is a gem of a Mediterranean restaurant frequented by locals, out-of-towners, and celebs alike. That’s right; we’re talking about Costa Med Bistro+Wine, where the vino flows lavishly, and the delicacies of the sea and land just keep coming.

If you’ve been in need of a mid-week pick-me-up—this is it. Perhaps start with the steak tartare, you won’t regret it, featuring the finest Black Angus beef mignon filet finely chopped with onions, quail egg yolk, dijon mustard, capers, and a generous amount of EVOO. Moving on to the mains—piccata di Vitello al limone is where it’s at, veal cooked in a white wine and lemon sauce with capers and served with pasta aglio e olio cooked to perfection. We can’t guarantee you won’t be frequenting Costa Med on your lunch break multiple days a week from now on.

Thursday, January 16: Drinks at ViceVersa

What to Do in Miami This Week [Jan 13-19] - Costa Med, Kissaki, Lobster Shack, ViceVersa - January 2025

This Thursday, January 16, from 5 to 9 p.m., ViceVersa is hosting Gregory Camillo, Group General Manager of Rome’s acclaimed Jerry Thomas Bar Room. This globetrotting cocktail maestro, with stints at Singapore’s Jigger & Pony and London’s Bar Termini, is bringing his expertise to Miami for two nights only.

Guests can indulge in aperitivo-inspired creations featuring Campari, like the Tommy Jirry, a fiery twist on Tommy’s Margarita with tequila, mezcal, maracuja, ginger, and a chipotle-salt rim, or the Supmonish, a sparkling, refreshing blend of pink peppercorn Campari, grapefruit, cassis, and tonic. For something sweet and savory, the Dirty Negroni delivers a bold mix of gin, Campari, olive brine, and licorice liqueur. Reservations via Resy are encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome in the bar area. Make your reservations here.

ViceVersa is located inside Elser Hotel at 398 NE 5th St, Miami, FL 33132. For more information, visit their official website.

Friday, January 17: Dinner at Kissaki

What to Do in Miami This Week [Jan 13-19] - Costa Med, Kissaki, Lobster Shack, ViceVersa - January 2025

Put on your best getup, grab your besties, and head to Kissaki, because that’s the place to be on a Friday night. The sushi restaurant South of Fifth has been luring people with its fresh setting, downbeat music, and a menu that gives you a lavish experience without breaking the bank.

If it’s your first time here for dinner and you’re opting for the a la carte menu, we’ve got some go-to dishes you don’t want to miss. Start off with the refreshing yet delicate tai crudo, dressed in ponzu, grapefruit, and truffle carpaccio. Make sure also to get the Kissaki house salad featuring an utterly delicious Yuzu miso dressing. Then, for something heartier—we can’t stop raving about the creamy Hokkaido uni pasta made with temomi noodles. See you there!

Saturday, January 18: Lunch at the Lobster Shack Get Buttered Up at the Lobster Shack

What to Do in Miami This Week [Jan 13-19] - Costa Med, Kissaki, Lobster Shack, ViceVersa - January 2025

The Lobster Shack, a family-run hotspot, slings the kind of seafood dreams are made of. Think lobster rolls overflowing with claw meat, briny East Coast oysters, and velvety lobster bisque. No pretense, just pure, unadulterated ocean goodness served steps from the sand.

Their menu is a love letter to New England eats with a twist. The Cajun lobster roll is a buttery, spicy knockout. The seared tuna tacos are straight-fire. And if you’re all about taking it to the next level, the king crab roll is where it’s at. Pro tip: pair your feast with one of the Shack’s craft beers before taking a stroll down the beach.
