Tuesday, August 5: National Oyster Day at Lobster Shack

What to Do in Miami This Week [Aug 4-10] - Lily's Ice Cream, Lobster Shack, Old Lisbon, Primo's, weekly - November 2025

For National Oyster Day on Tuesday, August 5, Lobster Shack is your mollusk sanctuary. Whether you’re a purist or a toppings devotee, this South Beach staple is celebrating all things briny and beautiful.

Let’s start with the classics—East Coast oysters on the half shell, served fresh and ice-cold, perfect for a breezy beach day bite. For something richer, let’s go all in with oysters Rockefeller or baked oysters, bubbling with that ocean umami and golden from the oven. Pair it with a lobster roll, a cup of lobster bisque, or just grab a cold one and settle in on their laid-back patio steps from the sand. It’s an ode to the ocean, where buttery, garlicky, and downright addictive oysters take center stage.

Friday, August 8: Lily’s Ice Cream Opening

What to Do in Miami This Week [Aug 4-10] - Lily's Ice Cream, Lobster Shack, Old Lisbon, Primo's, weekly - November 2025

Lily’s Handmade Ice Cream is dropping its second spot in North Miami this Friday just in time to cool us down from the summer heat. Born from a family experiment, it’s now one of South Florida’s sharpest ice cream brands. Ori Gilinsky, the self-taught flavor architect, flips the script with bold combos—like Dusty Monkey, brown sugar banana loaded with biscoff cookies, and South Florida Swamp, a rich chocolate packed with Oreos.

Every batch is made fresh in-house, kosher, natural, and thoughtful enough to include vegan and dairy-free options. To celebrate the launch, Lily’s is also teaming up with local heavy hitters for exclusive, limited-edition flavors. See you there!

Lily’s is located at 14871 Biscayne Boulevard, North Miami Beach, FL, 33181. For more information, please visit their official website.

Saturday, August 9: Miami Spice Dinner at Primo’s

What to Do in Miami This Week [Aug 4-10] - Lily's Ice Cream, Lobster Shack, Old Lisbon, Primo's, weekly - November 2025

Finally it’s the time we’ve all been waiting for: Miami Spice has officially landed. This Saturday, we’re going out to Primo’s for a cozy Italian dinner full of old-school charm and bold flavor for only $60 per person. We’re starting with the calamari and zucchini served crisp with spicy marinara, or perhaps opting for the all-beef meatballs prepared in a luscious tomato sauce topped with whipped ricotta. For mains, we’re eyeing the branzino piccata—Mediterranean sea bass bathed in lemon butter sauce with a side of mashed potatoes and vegetables—or maybe we’ll go classic with fettuccine alfredo, creamy and comforting. End strong with the restaurant’s signature tiramisu.

For sips Primo’s has prepared a series of cocktails priced at only $10-12. Indulge in the French 75 topped with champagne or try Primo’s martini—a summery splash of watermelon liqueur with a citrusy kick. With water views and neighborhood warmth, this longtime local favorite is the perfect place to toast to Saturday—and to the Miami Spice season.

Sunday, August 10: Miami Spice Brunch at Old Lisbon Aventura

What to Do in Miami This Week [Aug 4-10] - Lily's Ice Cream, Lobster Shack, Old Lisbon, Primo's, weekly - November 2025

Sundays at Old Lisbon carry the kind of unhurried elegance you want from a weekend in Aventura—the clink of wine glasses, the low hum of conversation, and plates that arrive looking as though they’ve stepped out of a Lisbon café. For Miami Spice brunch, $35 gets you a three-course love letter to Portugal.

We’re starting with bolo de caco, warm Madeiran flatbread brushed generously with garlic butter, or perhaps the theatrical chouriço assado, a flaming Portuguese sausage that demands a little spectacle. The main event might be silky scrambled eggs with sausage, peppers, and cheese, or camarão ao crème, grilled shrimp lounging in a decadent garlic cream sauce with rice and fries. Dessert? Always. A pastel de nata, its custard trembling under a dusting of cinnamon, or morgado do Buçaco, a walnut cake rich with almond, figs, and eggs. While drinks are not a part of the regular Miami Spice programming, we do encourage you to not leave without trying one of the restaurant’s sublime port cocktails.

Old Libson Aventura is located at 2960 NE 199th Street, Aventura, FL 33180. For more information, visit their official website.
