Tuesday at the Lobster Shack

National Comfort Food Day is upon us. What is comfort food to you? Usually, comfort food stirs up fond memories of childhood, those special times when we felt content while eating our favorite foods. More often than not, something cheesy, rich in carbs, oh-so soothing, and downright delicious. To get that comfort food fix this Tuesday, weā€™re heading to the Lobster Shack on Lincoln Road.Ā

Crustacean-filled goodies may not have been a staple in everyoneā€™s childhood, but they sure fit the comfort food category in our book. Letā€™s start the meal off with a creamy bowl of chunky New England clam chowder ā€” divine. Moving on, how about some crispy crunchy Southern-fried fish fingers? Yes, please! Comfort food is all about indulging, so weā€™re not stopping just yet. The Lobster Shack serves up an amazing surf nā€™ turf burger to satisfy those burger cravings. Lobster, bacon, and cheese on a patty ā€” what else does one need? Finally, letā€™s add some sides for the ultimate soul-balming experience: cheesy lobster mac & cheese and chowder fries covered in clam chowder with bacon and, but of course, more cheese.Ā

Wednesday at Makoto

On Wednesday, December 6th, join us for an exclusive one-time experience at Makoto. The acclaimed Japanese omakase restaurant is organizing an exceptional night featuring a 5-course dinner by Executive Chef Daniel Garner and glorious wine pairings by Tablas Creek with special guidance by Chris Birnie-Visscher.

On the menu, expect tuna crispy rice accompanied by serrano chilis; aji amarillo and shiso-laced live scallops; king crab salad in a yuzu-kosho aioli; nigiri prepared with a fresh and rare catch; and toro tartare paired with cherry blossom salt. Weā€™ll leave the rest to the imagination but bet there will be immaculate cuts of steak, a delicate dessert, and of course, wine to perfectly round off the night.Ā Ā

Makoto is located at 9700 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33154. For more information,Ā visit their official website.

Friday at Costa Med

Where to Eat in Miami This Week [Dec 4-10] - Costa Med, La Estancia Argentina, Lobster Shack, Makoto, weekly - November 2024

A heartwarming experience always awaits when taking a step into Costa Med over in Key Biscayne. The quaint Mediterranean bistro always delivers its charming vibes, ambrosial cuisine, and service that reminds you of being greeted by a dearly loved friend.

On any given visit, seafood ends up taking center stage on the table, with the restaurant always providing nothing but the freshest local catch. Letā€™s start the experience off with the highly revered fresh daily ceviche made with a luscious leche de tigre and served with crunchy green plantain tostones. Another jewel in the crown here is the Greek-style grilled octopus. If you look up tender in the dictionary ā€” youā€™re sure to find the Costa Med octopus. Finally, letā€™s finish the meal off with an order of the lobster ravioli. Homemade pasta is filled with 100% claw meat in the creamiest lobster sauce you can imagine. All thatā€™s left is asking for a drink pairing to go with this sublime Friday night dinner.Ā

Saturday at La Estancia

Where to Eat in Miami This Week [Dec 4-10] - Costa Med, La Estancia Argentina, Lobster Shack, Makoto, weekly - November 2024

Happy National Pastry Day! Suppose La Estancia, the Argentinian bakery slash deli slash restaurant, doesnā€™t come to mind when youā€™re thinking of pastries in Miami. In that case, itā€™s probably because you have yet to visit the scrumptious establishment. Step into the bakery section, and youā€™ll find rows upon rows of tempting, flaky, sweet pastries representative of the finest Argentinian desserts: alfajores, medialunas, and canoncitos. Delish.Ā

We recommend stopping by early in the morning when you can pair your sweet experience with a classic cafe con leche. Want to make the morning even more sweet and indulgent? Go for the order of dulce de leche coffee ā€” you wonā€™t regret adding an extra layer of sweetness to your day. See you there, and letā€™s share some pastries and coffee to celebrate the foodie holiday.
