The Best Breakfast in Miami Beach

8 mins read

It’s breakfast time in Miami Beach, where are you heading? The city has plenty of options for the perfect brekkie from French pastry shops, tried and tested retro diners dishing out massive pancakes, breezy health-conscious cafes, and oh so much more.

Below we’ve gathered the best of the best when it comes to breakfast burritos, flaky croissants, green smoothies, and of course, coffee.

Big Pink

Big Pink is a true institution of the American breakfast, nestled right in the heart of South Beach. We urge all to come here with an appetite because the portions are gigantic. Strolling along Collins Avenue, the place is hard to miss — it is big and it is pink.

Stepping inside is like stepping into your retro dreams, with pancakes and coffee scurrying to their respective tables. There’s also plenty of outdoor seating for those wishing to enjoy the breeze alongside some people-watching.

With over 200 scrumptious menu items to choose from, what’s our go-to breakfast order? For a savory breakfast, the fried chicken and waffle benny is a must — two eggs benedict, fried chicken, bacon and cheddar served atop malted waffles with Hollandaise sauce. Oof. It’s a big one and it’s the perfect cheat-day breakfast.

For a sweet breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the giant Big Pink pancakes — they are big and they are perfect, served with maple syrup, butter, and all the other toppings your soul desires. The diner also has all the espresso-based beverages, juices, and smoothies required to make this your dream retro breakfast spot.

Big Pink is located at 157 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.

Cafe Americano

Cafe Americano, the city’s beloved Latin-inspired diner has two Miami Beach outposts, both of which serve a solid breakfast. The diner dishes out so many delectable breakfast options that it’s hard to choose just one. For a savory kind of day, we truly can’t stop raving about the avocado burrata toast with an extra poached egg on top — it is the avocado toast of avocado toasts.

There’s also the breakfast burrito which comes positively stuffed with scrambled eggs, chorizo, bacon, cheddar, avocado, pico de gallo, and a spicy roasted jalapeno crema.

Now the sweet options are just as divine with choices of fluffy buttermilk pancakes, Belgian waffles with whipped cream, and, wait for it — an utterly indulgent tres leches French toast that will send you to breakfast heaven.

With a swanky vibe inside, plenty of shaded patio seating, and a respectable cup of joe, this might just become your go-to breakfast spot.

Cafe Americano has multiple locations in Miami Beach. For more information, visit their official website.

Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar

Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar is the city’s cherished cafe for all things espresso and all-day breakfast. With multiple locations across the 305, Crema Gourmet also has two locations in Miami Beach.

On the menu find breakfast classics like the cafe’s irresistible pancake breakfast served with scrambled eggs, bacon, and maple syrup; or their take on a breakfast sandwich stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and aioli. There are also omelets, croissants, bagels, and fruit bowls.

The best part about coming to Crema Gourmet for breakfast is, of course, the coffee. Being one of the city’s favorite coffee shops, the baristas make a mean latte, cappuccino, iced espresso, or any other espresso-based beverage your soul desires this day or that. The cafe also serves amazing smoothies and fresh juices for those keeping it caffeine-free.

Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar is located at 3400 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140. For more information, visit their official website.

Maison Valentine

For those who like to have a French-style breakfast of coffee and pastries, Maison Valentine is the answer. Helmed by Chef Stephané Merlat, who trained at the acclaimed Ducasse pastry school in France, the cafe serves immaculate fresh pastries every morning alongside a truly worthy cup of joe.

On the breakfast pastry menu find flaky buttery croissants, crispy baguettes served with butter and jam, and fruit-filled danishes and turnovers. With both indoor seating and a patio, this quaint little French bakery is the perfect spot for a friendly catch-up over breakfast or simply getting some coffee and a croissant with a good read away from the bustle of Miami Beach.

Maison Valentine is located at 1112 15th St, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.

Pura Vida

Pura Vida is a bright and breezy all-day cafe truly inhabiting the SoFlo vibe with locations throughout the greater Miami area and multiple outposts in Miami Beach.

The all-day breakfast consists exclusively of health-conscious and sustainable ingredients but that doesn’t mean you won’t be craving their indulgent brekkie options after just one bite.

Our favorite dishes for a filling and satisfying breakfast include the flaky croissant sandwich made with pasture-raised eggs and mozzarella omelet, with tomato, mixed greens, and a spicy aioli; or the vegan and gluten-free overnight oats with tons of delectable add-ins like coconut, dates, almond butter, fruits, and berries.

The coffee deserves its own honorable mention with delicious and unique options like the cafe’s Mediterranean latte, iced drip coffee with lemonade and cucumbers, and the creamy iced banana brew made with oat milk, dates, and bananas.

Pura Vida is located 1940 Alton Rd, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.
