Welcome to our March 2024 roundup of the best new restaurants in Miami.

Kissaki

Miami has seen an unprecedented spike in new omakase concepts in the past year, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t talk about Kissaki. The acclaimed New York hotspot recently planted roots in the South of Fifth neighborhood, welcoming guests to dine among chic interiors. Unlike other hotspots, Kissaki doesn’t bind guests to the omakase experience; its menu features extensive a la carte options that blend modern flair with traditional Japanese dining. Indulge in favorites like the kampachi crudo (truffle soy, shiso, watermelon radish), pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, and flavorful nigiri options such as hotate (scallop) with yuzu miso sauce and charcoal salt, and shima aji with grated ginger, chives, and black garlic. You might be tempted to order main dishes like Wagyu fried rice or the uni pasta, but don’t miss out on Kissaki’s inventive twists on classics, like the reimagined miso rigatoni bolognese.

Kissaki is located at 500 South Pointe Drive, Suite 160, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, please visit their official website

Oise Ristorante

Ever heard of Itameshi? For some Miamians, it might not be a familiar term, but it’s quickly becoming a phrase worth knowing with the arrival of Oise Ristorante inside Oasis Wynwood. The term refers to a fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine the team, including Mr. Omakase and MaryGold’s chef Brad Kilgore, explores in the menu. Imagine caramelized meatballs in a fondue espuma, served alongside sesame-garlic bread and red miso-tomato sauce, and truffle udon carbonara with jidori egg yolk, black sesame, and chive. Even the classic tuna nigiri gets a playful twist with Calabrian chili ponzu, crispy garlic, and basil oil. The concept might sound unconventional, but we recommend giving it a chance. After all, who can say no to Italian and Japanese cuisine? We’re already looking forward to round two.

Oise Ristorante is located at 2335 N. Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, please visit their official website

Manta Nikkei

Wynwood’s new Manta Nikkei fuses Peruvian and Japanese culinary heritages into a flavorful journey. Here, you’ll find all your favorites, from rolls, sashimis, and nigiri to ceviches and tiraditos, each dish embodying the fusion of Peruvian diversity and vibrancy with the refined elegance of Japanese culinary artistry. If you’re curious to check it out, Manta Nikkei offers an excellent happy hour (Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) featuring small bites and cocktails for $9. Notable chef selections include a four-hour cooked short rib sous vide in a Peruvian cilantro sauce and doble arequipeño—a baked Peruvian Rocoto pepper stuffed with ground beef, Botija olive, and hard-boiled egg, served with creamy potatoes au gratin and fried pork belly.

Manta Nikkei is located at 102 NW 25th St., Miami, FL 33127. For more information, please visit their official website

The Taco Stand

Taco lovers, this one’s for you! After a successful Wynwood locale, The Taco Stand has a new permanent locale to enjoy delicious bites on Calle Ocho. The Southern California Mexican concept earned a national following for delivering an authentic taqueria experience that is always “hecho a mano”—made by hand. The Tijuana-inspired taco stand features guacamole and salsas made from scratch daily, burritos, quesadillas, and an irresistible lineup of tacos, each more inventive than the next. In addition, enjoy breakfast items, Mexican-flavored popsicles, and always-fresh Rosarito-style churros.

The Taco Stand is located at 1555 SW 8th St. Miami, FL 33135. For more information, please visit their official website

The Hampton Social

Few restaurants are as synonymous with an epic brunch as The Hampton Social. Known for a “rosé all day” theme, this new Brickell hotspot originated to transport guests to one of the country’s most famous vacation spots in the Northeast: The Hamptons. Building on this coastal inspiration is a menu with offerings like a Maine-style lobster roll and crab + shrimp bruschetta, perfectly complemented by a whimsical beverage program. Don’t miss out on ordering the signature Hampton Frosé for the ultimate brunch experience. Whether brunching with your closest friends or celebrating a birthday, The Hampton Social never fails to impress.

The Hampton Social is located at 900 S. Miami Ave., Ste 220, Miami, FL 33130. For more information, please visit their official website
