New restaurants are opening rapidly in Miami. With so many places to choose from, we’re here to help guide you on where to go and where to eat now that fall—and high season—are in full swing.
From a Michelin-starred eatery opening a second outpost on South Beach to a supper club drawing crowds in Little Havana, here is our guide to five of The Magic City’s latest openings.
Created as a love letter to Cuba in the 1940s and 1950s, Social 27 Supper Club is Little Havana’s newest vibrant experience, beaming with lush, tropical foliage in the dining room that sets the scene for a dining experience rich like any other. Chef owners Justin Sherrer and Lisetty Llampalla of Doce Provisions are the brains behind the Nuevo Cubano cuisine, inspired by Latin flavors and Miami influences.
Be sure to try Social 27’s award-winning croquetas—some are topped with caviar!—and a tasty tipple. We recommend the Mi Amigo en Cartagena, made with mezcal, Colombian Lulo, and fresh passionfruit. There’s also a naranja creme brulee—an infusion of roasted banana with brown butter streusel.
Social 27 Supper Club is located at 2555 SW Eighth St., Miami, FL 33135. For more information, please visit their official website.
The original Elcielo Miami first garnered recognition for its innovative and Colombian-inspired cuisine that pays homage to chef Juanma’s native roots. It went on to win the first-ever Michelin Star in Florida in 2022. Now, Elcielo is ready to draw even more crowds at its second outpost inside the SLS South Beach, featuring a dining space that transports you to Cartagena and the Amazon jungle.
Expect wow-worthy dishes, plus a few sensory experiences with “one-of-a-kind flavors and textures.” Standouts range from the Lulo yellowtail ceviche dressed in champagne emulsion to roasted quail (apastelado rice, guanciale mushroom duxelle, and wild leek puree) to the grand Tree of Life. This specialty features yucca and queso fresco “bread,” herb cream, and toasted caramelized butter. Savor a delightful rendition of the country’s beloved pastry, Meregon, enhanced with the alcoholic spirit Aguardiente.
Elcielo at SLS South Beach is located at 1701 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, please visit their official website.
Visitors and locals alike are in for a treat with the addition of two exciting culinary experiences at YOTEL Miami in Downtown. The concepts include Vela Sky, an al fresco rooftop oasis on the twelfth floor inspired by Miami’s vibrant energy, and Vela, an indoor restaurant and lounge designed for non-stop culinary exploration.
For those seeking an elevated evening, stop by Vela Sky between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. to indulge in its daily social hour, complete with weekly DJ sets and the main attraction: a menu of seasonal delights meant for sharing. Choose between options like citrus salad with yuca, blistered shishito peppers, or ahi tuna, among others.
Downstairs, Vela offers globally influenced menus available throughout the day. Think pan-seared salmon with quinoa salad, mango salsa, and chipotle vinaigrette. Be sure to order a classic cocktail with a twist. We recommend the Sailors Aperol Spritz, a libation inspired by the restaurant’s name (Vela is a Latin term for a ship’s sails).
Vela Sky is located at 227 NE Second St., Miami, FL 33132. For more information, please visit their official website.
Aventura’s new Street Hibachi, Pan Asian Steakhouse & Sushi takes kosher dining to new heights, sourcing authentic ingredients directly from the Far East. This outpost marks Florida’s largest kosher restaurant, boasting nearly 360 seats. There’s a lot to love at Street Hibachi, including the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asian cuisines and the oh-so-loved hibachi experience.
For those who want to explore other culinary offerings, there are meats cooked to perfection from the Josper grill, meticulously crafted rolls and sashimi, and an array of buns and dumplings. The best part? This innovative culinary approach ensures the Jewish community can enjoy an authentic and flavorful dining experience without compromise.
Street Hibachi, Pan Asian Steakhouse & Sushi is located at 3599 NE 207th St. Aventura, FL 33180. For more information, please visit their official website.
For those looking to dine over on the beach, you can check out Rum Room, located in a historical, century-old landmark on the Miami Beach Convention Center Campus. This new spot features an upscale, tapas-style menu, rich in Latin flavor, while also highlighting fresh local ingredients and plant-based options. Favorites include the Rum Room burger, Florida corn grits, with pork belly, and cheese gratin, and Spanish shakshuka.
Choose between indoor seating inside the cozy outpost or the canal-side terrace to enjoy year-round waterside dining. Staying true to its name, Rum Room boasts an exceptional rum and spirits program. Be sure to explore something off the cocktail menu, like the El Floridita. This concoction blends Papa’s Pilar Blonde Rum, maraschino liqueur, fresh grapefruit, and lime.
Rum Room is located at 2100 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, please visit their official website.
