What are you doing for brunch this weekend? We’ve rounded up your favorite spots to help you find the best brunch in Miami. Whether you’re looking for a healthy approach to brunch or you’re seeking a “let’s forget I have work on Monday” vibe, we have you covered with selections all over the city. Cheers!
The namesake restaurant from internationally acclaimed baker Antonio Bachour spares no expense when it comes to a quality brunch (and breakfast) experience. It should come as no surprise that there’s a big focus on the sweet offerings at this Coral Gables eatery. Two crowd favorites –the guava pancakes and the challah French toast –are sure to put a smile on anyone’s face with their bright flavors and beautiful Instagram-worthy looks.
These sweet restaurant selections are bolstered by a beautiful lineup of bakery selections that put Bachour’s skills on full display. Carrot cake, gianduja cake, Valrhona brownie, tiramisu tarts … dentists everywhere need to look out. Even if you’re full of brunch food, take a few of Bachour’s greatest hits with you on the road.
Not in the mood for something sweet? You’re at the wrong place. Just kidding: Dishes from the other end of the spectrum are just as impressive as their sugary counterparts. One bite of the Bachour egg sandwich makes for a messy meal but will win over even the pickiest of palates. There are also brunch classics like croque madame, Greek yogurt and berries, and salmon scrambles. Because Bachour offers an all-day menu, you’ll find items like a steak sandwich, lomo saltado, and roasted chicken breast, too. With such a varied menu from morning to night, you have no reason NOT to go.
Bachour is located on the ground floor of 2020 Salzedo Street, Coral Gables, FL 33134. For more information or to make a reservation, call 305-203-0552 or visit their official website.
Is someone else buying you brunch? Is “budget” not a word in your vocabulary? Then head over to Novikov in Downtown Miami. The Asian eatery is offering an indulgent two-tiered brunch that will have you rolling out of the restaurant. The first tier is a $99-per-person feast with unlimited appetizers like spicy salmon maki, dim sum, and fried rice, plus entrees choices like sweet and sour mango chicken and duck salad; there’s also all-you-can-drink champagne, Bloody Marys, and wine selections (and more that we haven’t listed).
The premium feast will set you back $189 per person and includes even more flavorful fare like Hamachi carpaccio and truffle, prawn fried rice, Singapore noodle, roasted Peking duck, and prime ribeye. Alcohol-wise, expect bottomless Laurent Perrier Rose, sake, and specialty cocktails. Both tiers end with an exquisite dessert platter.
No matter which tier you choose, it’s a ton of food. Just know that you can’t take anything home, so skip breakfast and come hungry.
Novikov is located at 300 South Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33131. For more information, visit their official website.
MiMo’s Patio Isola has no shortage of Italian food to get you through the weekend. It’s the perfect place to enjoy with a large party because there’s just so much to order. Let’s start with the appetizers: the arancini Isola is a cheese lover’s dream with taleggio, mozzarella, pecorino, parmesan, and ricotta cheese. It’s a lot of flavors packed in a ball, and it’s a dish that should begin any meal here. Don’t want to start off too indulgent? The Zuppa di clams hit the spot, and the charcuterie board never disappoints.
You’re most likely here for the pasta, and if you haven’t already tried it –shame you –the rigatoni alla vodka is just … perfect. It’s big and delicious and something you likely won’t want to share. Other highlights here include the short rib ravioli, the fusilli amatriciana, and the spaghetti and meatballs.
There’s an entire pizza menu at Patio Isola, too. While you could stick to a plain pie or pepperoni, why? Go all out with the Don Enzo, a pepperoni, sausage, n’duja, and Mike’s hot honey combination that will blow your mind. The cinque Formaggio pizza with its five cheeses is also a standout on a menu full of winners. A full bar makes sure you don’t go thirsty.
Over in Midtown Miami, Riviera Focacceria is full of weekend treats that will make you forget that you have work on Monday. For years, the Italian eatery has served up some of the best Italian fare in the neighborhood. It tends to fly under the radar, but if you know, you know.
You’ve heard us wax poetic about the focaccia di recco here, so we won’t waste more time writing about it –just get it and prepare to have your life changed. Two starters to consider: the burrata caprese and the octopus carpaccio, both of which are super refreshing on a hot Miami day (aka every day).
Once you’ve enjoyed those two selections, make some room for tasty pastas like the classic lasagna, seafood linguine, and mushroom pappardelle. Watching your carb intake? No worries: The whole branzino and oven-baked salmon will make sure you stick to your macros. That said, if you’re feeling like dessert, we won’t tell your doctor about Riviera’s decadent Nutella tart –go ahead and order it.
Rosie’s made a name for itself in Overtown, and the breakfast/brunch concept from chefs Akino West and Jamila Ross has moved to a larger space in Little River. And a larger space means a larger menu.
On the menu at this Southern-inspired restaurant is an array of traditional brunch dishes as well as some whimsical fare that showcases the range of talent behind the concept. A soft scramble toast with roasted mushroom, Parmesan and garlic stands out among more substantial options like the hot chicken and biscuit and fish and grits; it’s arguably the star of the show despite its subtle appearance.
Specials are always popping up at Rosie’s and are worth a look, but we’re suckers for menu staples like the lemon ricotta pancakes with macerated berries; if you were to look up “light” and “fluffy” in the dictionary, you’d find a photo of this dish under each entry. And that’s an understatement –they’re perfect. Guests can complement all that delicious food with both boozy and non-boozy libations. FYI: There’s only outdoor seating here so dress appropriately.
Rosie’s is located outside Copper Door Bed & Breakfast at 439 NW 4thAvenue, Miami, FL 33128. For more information, call 305-454-9065 or visit their official website.
At Seawell Fish N’ Oyster, brunch starts early. The Miami Beach eatery begins brunch service at 8 a.m. so you can get your mimosa as soon as you wake up. As you can probably tell from the name, Seawell is all about seafood so expect to find everything from chilled seafood platters and lobster rolls to crab cake Benedicts and smoked salmon bagels. Yes, there are non-seafood options too –we’re looking at you, Peruvian chicken sandwich and Bacon-n-eggs –and they’re nice, but you’re not really here for those.
Another big draw here besides the seafood is the drink selection. Seawell has it all: beer, wine, cocktails, juices, coffee, ginger shots … the list goes on. Since this is brunch, the restaurant offers a bottomless 2-hour add-on, so you can drink your fair share of tropical mimosas, spritzers, bellinis or bloody marys. Our advice: Do it.
When you think of a steakhouse, the word “casual” doesn’t usually come to mind. But The Wagyu Bar on Coral Way is exactly that: a casual steakhouse –and we love it. Come as you are to enjoy stellar brunch bites like steak and eggs, A5 wagyu katsu sandos, and breakfast skillets. They even have pancake tacos here (they’re a thing, and they’re absolutely awesome).
Mimosas are the main brunch drink but you can also enjoy any of the drinks from the regular Wagyu Bar menu. The same goes for the sides: You can opt for the breakfast and brunch sides like Benton’s bacon, house potatoes, or toast, or go for cheese truffle fries, bacon mac, and creamy spinach. The menu may be on the smaller side compared to other entries on this list, but it’s a mighty one.
If you find yourself seeking a brunch spot in Brickell, look no further than Toscana Divino. The Sunday affair is a prix-fixe Italian menu that’s best enjoyed by groups. You start with bread and butter for the table, and then each person gets their choice of entrée –oyster and shrimps, spaghetti vongole and truffle carbonara are just a few of the yummy selections. It all ends with desserts like the ricotta cheesecake or limoncello sabayon. Alcohol is a separate charge, but everything is priced reasonably for the neighborhood. Expect to find the usual suspects like bellinis and mimosas alongside martinis and wine carafes. And if you’re extra hungry, consider getting the mare tower with chilled oysters, steamed prawns, and a selection of fish spreads –at $32, it’s a steal.
