Monday, July 7: Dinner at Bombay Darbar

At Bombay Darbar white tablecloths meet clay oven smoke; the service is smooth, the lighting low, and the spice level negotiable, but not timid. We’re starting with the aloo tikki chaat: crisp potato patties under a bright cascade of chickpeas, mint, tamarind, and yogurt. From there, we’re moving toward the mango chicken, a velvety, cashew-based curry made with mango puree. Then, of course, there’s the lamb roganjosh, a Kashmiri staple executed here with balance and depth, which we struggle skipping every time.

Everything arrives with fragrant basmati rice and, ideally, a round of garlic naan — blistered, chewy, and slightly charred from the tandoor. We’re ending with pistachio kulfi or ras malai, rounding out the spice-forward meal perfectly.

Thursday, July 10: New Summer Tasting Menu at Kaori

Brickell’s KAORI has never been shy, and their new summer tasting menu turns the dial even higher. The Pan-Asian, hi-fi-powered dining room has dropped a bold, finely-tuned multi-course experience for $90 per person that reads like a mixtape of flavor-forward heat and coastal cool.

The setlist opens with a trio of intricate small bites: a black sesame tartlet with beef tartare and kimchi, a delicate wonton shell cradling koji corn and tomato, and a turmeric-spiked raw oyster lit with black garlic oil. Things slow-jam with Japanese milk bread, fluffy and warm, layered with cultured butter and a shoyu-ume drizzle. From there: a citrusy Shiro Ponzu crudo, short rib dumplings laced with Doubanjiang heat, and two knockout mains. Choose the seared local fish over smoky dashi congee or the suya-spiced strip loin with vanilla-miso plantains. A kalamansi sorbet cleans the slate before a final hit: roasted white chocolate mille-feuille with smoked milk ice cream and caramelized nori. We can’t stop dreaming about it.

Kaori is located at 871 S Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33130. For more information, visit their official website.

Friday, July 11: New Summer Dinner Menu at Primo’s

For this week’s Friday dinner, we’re skipping the chaos and stepping into something slower, smoother, and more delicious; Primo’s is setting the tone for summer dinners. The new seasonal lineup leans elegant without trying too hard.

Start with the mussels fra diavolo, swimming in white wine and just enough Calabrian heat to tease the palate. Or share the smoked fish dip, an old-school Miami move done right with mahi, wahoo, and toasted ciabatta. For mains, the scallops alla Veneziana are a standout: perfectly seared, kissed with lemon and capers, and finished with golden breadcrumbs. But if you’re after something slow and rich, the short rib pasta delivers with a tangle of fresh noodles slicked with beef jus and earthy mushrooms. Pair it all with a glass of something red and finish with the pistachio semifreddo. Summer nights don’t get much better than this.

Saturday, July 12: Lunch at the Lobster Shack

Come noon on a Saturday, The Lobster Shack starts humming. It’s not the beach crowd—it’s the people who know. Tucked just off the sand, this counter-casual gem delivers seafood with zero pretense.

We’re starting with the baked oysters, kissed by heat, melting under garlic and herb butter. Delish. Then build from there; the classic lobster roll is textbook: chilled, lightly dressed, and heavy on sweet claw meat. But regulars know to ask for the South Beach version — lobster with bacon, avocado, and slaw. If we’re craving some heat, the Cajun lobster roll won’t disappoint. And if you’re the kind who can’t decide, just order the Poseidon: lobster, king crab, blackened shrimp, all tangled up in Cajun sauce. Pair it all with a chilled bisque and a cold beer, then take your time. The Lobster Shack experience is never rushed.
