Wednesday, September 4: Happy Hour at RED South Beach
Word on the block is that RED South Beach has a new happy hour, and we are oh-so there for it. RED has long been our favorite steakhouse in South Florida, and that is why it was voted one of the best steakhouses in America. With a hefty title sometimes comes a hefty price tag. RED isn’t usually the most budget-friendly restaurant on our list, but thanks to the bomb specials it consistently rolls out, it’s pretty affordable for a mid-week night out.
So what’s the scoop? Epicureans can pop by on weekdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and indulge to their hearts’ content in $10 bar bites, wines, and cocktails. Oh, and RED has one of the best wine selections in town, plus their cocktail program is otherworldly. We recommend not sleeping on this one, folks.
Thursday, September 5: National Cheese Pizza Day at La Natural
We’re always down to get a slice of cheese pizza. This time around, we’re making it extra special and taking ourselves out on a date to one of the best pizza joints in town. That is, La Natural. The Bib-Gourmand recognized pizzeria is known for its 48-hour cold-fermented pizza dough that is then fired in a wood oven and, of course, its natural wines.
A cheese slice from Natural won’t be the same as your local pizza shop’s slice. Don’t worry; you won’t be blotting off the oil with paper napkins. Instead, La Natural promises a perfectly puffy yet crunchy smoke-kissed crust and toppings of delicious fresh cheese. If you want to keep your cheese slice simple, go with the elevated classic—tomato sauce, burrata, and basil. Feeling a lil extra fancy? Go with the mozzarella, white & red onion, za’atar, and oregano pie. No matter which cheese pizza you’ll be feasting on, don’t forget to wash it down with a glass of the country’s finest natural wine.

Sunday, September 8: Bacalao Meravigliao Tasting Menu at Primo’s
Primo’s knows good food. So when we heard that they are rolling out a series of food-centered events for the month of September, we couldn’t help but make our reservation for the first one. As the name suggests, Bacalao Meravigliao will be an event focusing on the marvelous codfish. Bacalao translated from Spanish, means salted codfish, and indeed, it is the main character in multiple iconic dishes across Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Latin America,
Commencing at 3 p.m., diners can get a taste of several cod-centric dishes, from Venetian-style cod made with cod cream, aromatic herbs, and EVOO, to paccheri pasta with cod ragu and Milanese-style cod, where cod comes breaded in panko, crispy fried, and served with a refreshing arugula salad. The perfect finish to the meal will be a decadent, delicious pistachio tiramisu. The tasting menu is priced at $35.95, and reservations are strongly recommended.
