Are you a die-hard fan of fried chicken? Do you dream of golden, crispy skin and juicy, tender meat? Then look no further! When you think of the city’s specialties, fried chicken may not be top of mind, but Miami has plenty of great places that serve up a memorable take on this crowd favorite.
What’s a sushi place doing on a fried chicken list? Don’t let the name fool you: Besides some of the best sushi in Miami Beach, Blue Ribbon boasts a delectable fried chicken served with wasabi honey. It’s the only thing like it on the menu; everything else leans heavily into the restaurant’s Japanese influences. Load up on a few rolls or platters, but save room for this chicken. It’s not cheap, but you won’t regret it.
Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill is located at 336 21st Street, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.
At first glance, CJ’s Crab Shack doesn’t seem like a place for fried chicken. And you’re right: A lot of the menu is focused on the namesake protein. But besides fantastic crab dishes, the Ocean Drive eatery serves up some delicious chicken fingers. They’re the perfect casual bite to enjoy while taking in all the sights. The Buffalo chicken wings are also a must – they’re available fried or grilled.
Joe’s Stone Crab is another Miami Beach institution known for its seafood. Fried chicken? Not so much: The ½ bird on the menu is easy to miss because it’s surrounded by the restaurant’s more popular items like the titular stone crabs, lobster roll, and hashed brown potatoes. The price point even makes it look suspicious: Under $10.
That’s… relatively affordable on a menu where entrees can reach triple digits. And it’s just as good as many of those more expensive items. Trust us: Just get it.
Joe’s Stone Crab is located at 11 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.
Those of us who have been following Miami’s food scene for a while know that one of chef Michelle Bernstein’s famous dishes is her fried chicken. If you haven’t had the pleasure, try it for yourself at Downtown Miami’s Julia and Henry’s food hall. There, guests will find Michy’s Chicken Shack, which serves up a tasty number of chicken sandwiches and combos. You can never go wrong with the classic with house pickles, house aioli, and chicken gravy, but make sure you try all four options; despite the name, The Summer is great all year long. Treat yourself or share the wealth with a whole fried chicken dinner that features ten pieces of heaven on earth.
Michy’s Chicken Shack is located at 200 East Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33131. For more information, visit the food hall’s official website.
Michelin Guide-recognized Rosie’s is the definitive spot for elevated Southern food in Miami. The kitchen team serves up their signature fried chicken in several ways: Enjoy it with waffles, biscuits, or in a sandwich. No matter which option you choose, that first bite is pure magic. Words don’t do it justice—just go. Make a reservation, though, as this place is always busy.
Rosie’s is located at 7127 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33150. For more information, visit their official website.
