While not extensive in its pizza offerings, Wynwood houses some of the country’s best pizza parlors. Whether you’re craving a classic New York-style slice, some unorthodox Neapolitan creation, or just a good ol’ pie to go with your night out drinking – Wynwood comes through. Here are our favorite spots for the best pizza in Wynwood.
Baccano, one of Wynwood’s longest-running bars and lounges, is more than just pizza, it’s a party. With groovy specials every single day of the week, DJs, craft cocktails, and all-around good vibes, you’ll never want to leave. Luckily, they also serve up some of the best pizzas in the area. On the menu find a bounty of wood-fired Neapolitan-style pies, all of which are personal-sized and gluten-free customizable.
There are two categories to choose from here: rosso with a tomato-based pie and bianca, which is a no-sauce cheese-based one. Tons tickles the fancy here, with some unique standouts being the smoked margherita with smoked mozz, the pizza lasagna with bolognese and ricotta, and the truffle steak bianca pizza with fontina cheese, chopped ribeye steak, and truffle cream. Come any day of the week between 4 and 9 p.m., and you can get an order of cheese or pepperoni pizza for $10 and $5 mixed drinks and beer buckets.
Baccano Pizza is located at 169 NW 23rd St #103, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
The name might be a little confusing but rest assured, we are in Wynwood. Joe’s Pizza has swiftly become a true NYC institution and now has its own branch in Miami serving the OG slice. Even the shop itself holds true to its New York original, having that same hole-in-the-wall brick-and-mortar feel but is slightly more expanded to serve a multitude of 305ers looking for that authentic pie.
On the scene for nearly 50 years now, Joe’s Pizza, with its original location in Greenwich Village, is still owned and operated by Joe Pozzuoli, who came from Naples and opened the pizza shop in 1975. Lay your concerns to rest; the Wynwood location lives up to the NYC street slice standards, firing up paper-thin crusts with classic toppings like pepperoni, fresh mozz, or ricotta cheese. Sure, the prices might have gone up from 99 cents a slice, but even for $4, we can still bet this is one of the best slices you’re getting in the art district.
Joe’s Pizza is located at 234 NW 25th St, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
From NYC OGs to Miami OGs — yes, Mister 01 is that pizza place that puts our city on the map for pizza lovers worldwide. Originally firing pies in a tucked away South Beach office building, Mister 01 has expanded its pizza empire to include 13 shops in Florida, 3 in Texas, and even a couple in Saudi Arabia and Spain. They even have a pizza school for anyone who wishes to inherit the magic of the 01 Pizza themselves.
If you ever find yourself in Wynwood looking for a mighty good slice, rest in the certainty that Mister 01 has got you covered. So what is it that makes their pies so darn irresistible? For one, they have pioneered the highly Instagramable and equally scrumptious star-shaped pizza, where each edge comes stuffed with oozing soft ricotta cheese. This is by no means a traditional spot, but we’re no purists, and when it’s good, it’s good. If you want to try some of their more daring creations, we recommend getting an order of the Coffee Paolo pie, which comes topped with mozzarella, gorgonzola blue cheese, honey, coffee, and spicy salami calabrese. As outrageous as it sounds, it’s a total umami bomb. P.S. Gluten-free and vegan options are always available here.
Mister 01 is located at 2315 N Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
Nestled in the back of the equally beloved Gramps bar, Pizza Tropical is a neighborhood gem. It’s one of those pizza parlors that always comes through for you. Whenever you need it—it’s there. And more likely than not, you need it after a few beers at Gramps. Nonetheless, that doesn’t make the pizza any less delicious on any other day, even when you’re not tipsy.
Open till midnight on weekdays and till 3 a.m. on Saturdays, Pizza Tropical dishes out New York-style pizza by the pie or by the slice. Choose from the pizza classics like El Mushroomo (the name speaks for itself), the El Peppe, aka pepperoni, or the El Vegano. The pizza maestros will also let you build your own pie (or slice) and will even serve you up an order of fries or hot wings if that’s your steelo.
Pizza Tropical is located at 176 NW 24th St, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
More than just the neighborhood glam spot, Sha Wynwood, the Mediterranean fusion restaurant, fires up some top-notch pizza pies in its wood oven. Oh, and a little extra glam never hurts anyone. Sha takes pride in sourcing exclusively sustainable and organic ingredients, local whenever possible. The pizza is simple and straight to the point, allowing the culinary element’s purity to shine. Whether you go with the classic margherita, aromatic tartufa with truffle leaves, or the Italiana with rucola and parma ham, you’ll be getting a fluffy charred crust with a beautiful arrangement of fresh ingredients ready to be devoured even by the pickiest pizza aficionado. Couple the experience with live music and performances on most nights, and Sha Wynwood will inevitably enter your pizza roster.
