The Best Raw Bars in Miami

Sometimes, you don’t need a large meal to satisfy your hunger. Instead, something light will do. That’s where raw bar selections like oysters and shrimp cocktails fit in. These five spots have you covered when you want some smaller bites and stiff drinks.

Cebada Rooftop

Coral Gables’ first rooftop restaurant is home to an impressive raw bar. After you’ve taken in the view at Cebada Rooftop, get ready to indulge in items like kusshi oysters, snow crab claws, and local fish ceviche. Everything on the raw bar menu will make your mouth water, so just try it all with the $85 platter.

Cebada Rooftop is located at 124 Giralda Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134. For more information, visit their official website

CJ’s Crab Shack

CJ’s Crab Shack offers the best of both worlds. If you want a huge snow crab dinner, you can have it. And if you want something smaller, you can have that, too. Grab a seat and slurp down some tasty oysters while enjoying CJ’s signature cocktails.

Stick to traditional raw oysters by the half dozen or live a little with the South Beach restaurant’s baked version. These baked oysters come with salt pepper, garlic, butter, swiss, and parmigiana cheese and they’re cooked to perfection. You can also get some oysters Rockefeller if that’s more your style.

CJ’s Crab Shack is located at 600 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website

Lobster Shack

Lobster Shack – the sister eatery to CJ’s Crab Shack – features just as many seafood bar delights. East coast oysters are a must at this South Beach institution, as are the stone crabs that come with a delicious homemade sauce. Given the name, it’s no surprise lobster cocktail makes an appearance – and it’s no surprise that it’s amazing. Other highlights include seared tuna, king crab, and snow crab. Don’t forget to get some champagne while you’re at it.

Lobster Shack has multiple locations in Miami Beach. For more information, visit their official website.

Monty’s Raw Bar

You can’t talk about raw bar selections without talking about Monty’s Raw Bar in Coconut Grove – raw bar is in its name. The Key West vibes here are perfect for slurping down some bivalves and noshing on conch salad, shrimp ceviche, and peel-and-eat shrimp. The other thing Monty’s is known for: specialty drinks. The Pain Remover is always a good time; just make sure to Uber home.

Monty’s Raw Bar is located at 2550 South Bayshore Drive, Miami, FL 33133. For more information, visit their official website

RED South Beach

When you think of RED South Beach, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Odds are you’re thinking about the restaurant’s signature steaks. And while those are indeed worthy of your attention, the raw bar deserves some of the spotlight. Among the many options, you’ll find tuna tartare, shrimp cocktail, and oysters of all types; we’re partial to the Buffalo and New Orleans versions (the latter has spicy Parmesan butter). If budget isn’t an issue, consider the oysters and caviar or the ultimate hot seafood tower.

RED South Beach is located at 801 South Pointe Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website
