The Best Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving in Miami [2023]

Time flies: Thanksgiving is upon us again. Need plans for the holiday? We’ve got you covered with this roundup of Thanksgiving openings, events, and specials.

Branja

To celebrate Thanksgiving, Branja will be offering a dine-in celebratory meal for two ($130), for four ($240), and for groups of six ($345), including a festival holiday assortment. The pre-fixe menu includes Roasted Turkey in warm spices from Tel Aviv markets, served with Papaya and Blackberry Sauce (a play on the traditional cranberry sauce) and Tamarind Glaze (Branja’s version of gravy); Fresh Corn Salad (a playful take on cornbread); Slow Cooked Cabbage; and Sweet Potato Crème Brûlée.

Branja will be open on Thanksgiving from 1-9 p.m. and reservations are recommended. Thanksgiving specials will be limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Byblos

At Mediterranean hotspot Byblos, they have created their version of Thanksgiving with a three-course prix-fixe menu.  For the first course, guests can choose from Roasted Red Beets with pistachio, caraway, labneh, and barbari bread; Hamachi with jalapeno labneh, sweet red onion, cucumber and lime; Eggplant Kibbeh with zucchini flower, baharat, chickpea batter and house yogurt; and their famous Truffle Pide with buffalo mozzarella, halloumi, tartufata.

The main course includes a Harissa Spiced Turkey made with cranberry and pomegranate chutney, brioche pine nut stuffing, and natural jus. Sides include Green Beans, Whipped Sweet Potatoes & Sweet Jeweled Rice, and for dessert a choice of Halva Parfait (sesame tuile, white chocolate mousse, blood orange gelee, pashmak, and Chocolate Mousse (sweet cream, katafi, coffee molasses, chocolate caramel tuile).

CJ’s Crab Shack

Located in the heart of Ocean Drive, CJ’s Crab Shack offers a delightful non-traditional Thanksgiving experience with a coastal twist. Don’t expect to find any turkey here: CJ’s invites diners to forgo the bird in favor of succulent crab and other seafood specialties, including fried shrimp, steak and lobster, and steamed clams. If you want a tasty break from the usual Thanksgiving fare, this is the place.

COTE Miami

On Thanksgiving Day, COTE Miami will be offering their unique Thanksgiving Feast for $155 per person. This COTE tradition features Turkey Mandoo, a special selection of USDA Prime and American Wagyu cuts, exclusive COTE accompaniments like Sticky Rice Stuffing, Japchae, and Galbi Jjim braised with sweet soy sauce and served with ginkgo nuts and autumn vegetables, and beyond.  

As always, COTE Miami’s sommelier team pulls a special large format bottle from the cellar to pour by the glass during this familial day. Past pours have included cult cru Beaujolais, aged Barbaresco, and blue chip Bordeaux. Both pecan and pumpkin pie will be available to round out an all-embracing celebration of festive Korean flavors and American traditions.

Lightkeepers

Lightkeepers, the premier oceanfront restaurant located at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami is offering guests a Thanksgiving feast on Thursday, November 23 with three seating from 12:30—4 p.m., 5—8 p.m., and the last seating at 8 p.m. The meal priced at $185++ per adult and $69++ per child aged 5-12 includes small bites, salads, chilled seafood and raw bar, pasta, and Thanksgiving-inspired dishes ­– among other delicious items. Kids have their own special menu including Southern Fried Chicken Tenders. Bottomless beverages are included. Reservations are required.

The Lobster Shack

Like its sibling CJ’s Crab Shack, The Lobster Shack is open on Thanksgiving to satisfy diners looking for something a little different. As you’d expect, the menu leans on lobster—specifically some of the best lobster rolls in the city—but also includes other delights like fish tacos, oysters, king crab, and more. There’s a full bar, too, which is always a plus. Offering lunch and dinner, The Lobster Shack has your Thanksgiving eats covered. 

Red Rooster

Skip all of that work in the kitchen: Red Rooster Overtown, the beloved Overtown restaurant, will be open from noon-8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The eatery’s prix-fixe menu will be offered at $80 per person and $25 for kids under 12 years old and served family style. 

Guests can select two items from the small shares section, with options such as the Rooster Caesar Salad (baby gem + Tuscan kale lettuces, crispy farro, feta cheese, kalamata olives, harissa caesar dressing); Marcus’ Cornbread, Garlic Crab (Old Bay garlic butter, buttermilk biscuit croutons). 

Main course options include Turkey Duo (Cajun smoked breast, pulled BBQ turkey leg, cranberry sauce, giblet gravy) and Smothered Curry Turkey Wings (+15 per person – piquilla peppers, callaloo greens, cassava), accompanied by Glamorous Amaris’ Greens, Crispy Jerk Sweet Fingerling, Grilled Street Corn, Towners Mac & Cheese,  Black Seafood Rice, and Vegetarian Field Peas. 

Dessert options include Delia’s Sweet Potato Pie (blackberries, vanilla buttermilk sauce); Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie (warm bourbon toffee sauce, vanilla ice cream); and a Giant Almond White Chocolate Chip Cookie.

RED South Beach

Get your orders in for one of Miami’s top “To-Go” options this Thanksgiving. RED South Beach is pulling out all the stops for the holiday: 10 pounds of white meat turkey breast, apple sausage stuffing, sweet potato fondue, green beans, whipped potatoes and gravy, cranberry relish, creamed corn, 4-cheese mac and cheese, and your choice of pie. You can order the full feast for $249 or order a la carte—just make sure to order online by November 20. 

Sha

Thanksgiving with a Mediterranean twist is what you’ll find at Sha in Wynwood. The lively establishment will be open on the holiday for regular dinner service. All your favorites will be available such as torched tuna carpaccio, duck dumplings, meat-lover pizza, ribeye steak, and curry chicken. Always save room for dessert, the butternut squash creme brulee is always a treat.

Toscana Divino

For Thanksgiving with an Italian flair, look no further than Brickell’s Toscana Divino. This upscale eatery seamlessly merges Tuscan traditions with the warmth of a holiday celebration. On Thanksgiving Day, expect a curated prix-fixe feast that features the likes of roasted turkey, stuffing, pumpkin gnocchi, potato puree, and more. At $80 per adult (and even less for kids), it’s a steal. Limited regular menu offerings will also be available.
