7 Casual Restaurants for When You Don’t Feel Like Dressing Up

Dining out is a special experience, but sometimes you just don’t want to dress up. The next time you don’t feel like dressing to the nines, check out these seven casual restaurants in Miami.

Blue Collar

Blue Collar, a MiMo comfort food go-to, has recently moved across the street to bigger digs. The larger dining room means a larger menu (and a full bar). Many favorites have made the trek, including their famous dry-aged cheeseburger, shrimp and grits, and jalapeno cornbread. Make sure to check out the daily specials, which include chops, braised items, and pasta. Balance everything out with ample veggies—something else that Blue Collar is famous for; we’re partial to the roasted red beets.

Blue Collar is located at 6789 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138. For more information, visit their official website

CJ’s Crab Shack

At CJ’s Crab Shack on Miami Beach, everyone is welcome. If you feel like dressing up, nobody will stop you, but this awesome eatery is all about casual vibes. In fact, we recommend you do dress down for this iconic Ocean Drive restaurant—the food can get a little messy. Fried shrimp, steamed clams, snow crab, seafood pasta, crab cakes… You’ll see firsthand why this place is always busy.

El Turco

Forget fancy attire and head to El Turco for a casual yet delicious culinary adventure. Their menu, filled with traditional Turkish specialties, is sure to please every palate. Indulge in some manti dumplings, sample their flavorful dips like hummus and cacik, or savor the rich flavors of their lamb casserole. With its relaxed atmosphere and authentic fare, El Turco is the perfect spot for a low-key night out.

Ironside Pizza

Craving a chill vibe and a killer pie? Ironside Pizza is THE place. With its laid-back atmosphere and affordable pricing, you can rock your most comfy jeans and still feel right at home. Don’t miss their signature pizzas with delectable topping combos like the Pesto e Ricotta or the Campania with eggplant, bell peppers, zucchini, and other veggies. There are other non-pizza options as well, so don’t worry if you’re counting calories. Come as you are, and enjoy a memorable meal.

The Lobster Shack

Just like CJ’s Crab Shack—its sister restaurant—Lobster Shack welcomes all. With two convenient locations, one on Lincoln Road and one on South Pointe, you’re never too far away from delicious casual seafood. As you can probably guess from the name, the concept focuses on lobster, so expect lobster rolls, lobster tacos, and live Maine lobster as well as other favorites like fish tacos, shrimp salad, and clam chowder.

Thorn

Thorn isn’t your average watering hole. Here, elevated bar fare takes center stage, with dishes like wagyu meatballs, bulgogi fries, oysters, and honey truffle sriracha wings. Wash it all down with a curated selection of cocktails that are as innovative as they are delicious. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite with friends or settling in for a chill date night, Thorn promises a casual experience that will leave your taste buds tingling.

Thorn is located at 6976 SW 40th St, Miami, FL 33155. For more information, visit their official Instagram

Wabi Sabi

Embrace the Japanese concept of finding beauty in imperfection at Wabi Sabi. This neighborhood sushi joint is all about fresh, flavorful dishes served in a relaxed setting that will make you feel great. Think artfully plated bowls, rolls bursting with flavor, and an impressive nigiri and sashimi selection that will make you want to linger. This place is also home to one of the more reasonably priced omakase offerings in town; definitely take advantage if you have the funds and time.
