Grand Central: A New Favorite on Biscayne

Located in Miami’s Upper East Side, Grand Central has quickly become a go-to spot for those seeking an upscale yet approachable dining experience featuring refined American cuisine. The brainchild of acclaimed Chef Nuno Grullon, Grand Central puts a creative spin on classic dishes that will have you coming back for more.

The atmosphere sets the tone with a cozy interior that’s perfect for a more intimate meal. During our visit, the crowd consisted mostly of locals and regulars in the know. Guests will instantly find an appetizing menu focused on traditional dishes executed with flair. Start with Grand Central’s signature crab cake—jumbo lump crab with Calabrian chili coulis and other accompaniments that make for a satisfying bite each time. The beef tartare is another standout appetizer, featuring delicious tenderloin, black truffle, capers, and more; we couldn’t get enough of it.

Yellowtail Crudo

For seafood lovers, the yellowtail crudo is a bright, refreshing starter option, while the trout filet in lemon butter sauce makes for a memorable entree with its simplicity and flavor. Both are expertly prepared and extremely addicting.

Chicken Pot Pie

Can’t make up your mind? You can’t go wrong with the signature pot pie. The flaky crust gives way to an indulgent filling of tender chicken, potatoes, truffle, carrots, and peas. It’s comfort food taken to the next level, and the presentation is gorgeous (and ideal for a social media post). Other highlights include the lobster ravioli and the namesake burger that’s been making headlines since the restaurant opened.

As tempting as it is to eat with your eyes here, this is one place where dessert is an absolute must; save room because you’ll want more than one. Expect decadent choices like chocolate cake, cheesecake, and a sundae. Again, these are items you’ve seen before but done better. Portions are generous, so come hungry.

Overall, Grand Central’s prices are very reasonable for the area and for the quality. Be sure to take a look at the fun wine list to pair with the exquisite cuisine. One last note: Parking can be a little difficult. While there are some dedicated parking spaces, we recommend ridesharing to avoid street parking, which can be limited depending on the time of day.

Ultimately, Grand Central is all about creative but approachable preparations, enjoyed in an upscale yet inviting ambiance. It has raised the bar for American dining in the Upper East Side—and in Miami as a whole. Whether you’re a purist or an adventurous eater, you’ll have a great time.
