Happy New Year! It’s a misconception that January quiets down after the holidays. Not as far as the best 305 establishments are concerned. This month, get ready for new menus, lush mocktails, enchanting speakeasies, and food and drink festivals.
It’s no secret that Miami’s hottest steakhouse, RED South Beach, also has one of the most extravagant brunch offerings. Crab-crusted tomahawk steaks, lobster pot pie, and chicken and waffles have made the brunch at RED the most sought-after Sunday activity. Meanwhile, the all-you-can-eat menu enthralled many a gourmand with tuna tartar, blue crab ravioli, and Kaluga or Osetra caviar.
On Sunday, January 14 RED will be launching a new a la carte menu featuring the brunch classics alongside some new tantalizing additions. Now, diners can enjoy the same impeccable provisions without spending a big chunk of their salary on the all-you-can-eat brunch (although you’ll definitely want to catch that one as well).
January is a big month for the newly opened Tanuki River Landing. The Asian fusion restaurant had its grand opening at the beginning of the month. Live entertainment, delectable canapes, and a giant sake barrel were all there to help patrons celebrate the restaurant’s newly acquired liquor license. Now, Tanuki River Landing has also launched Dinner by the River—a dining experience filled with explosive food, a live DJ set, fire dancers, and, of course, new craft cocktails. Every Friday and Saturday, grab a seat by the riverside, get yourself a mesmerizing cocktail like the cloudy sake, butterfly pea flower, and lychee-based Violet Geisha, and enjoy the sensory dinner experience.
Last month, a new supper club opened its doors to the Miami epicurean scene, and boy is it a good one. Delilah is a modern-day supper club paying homage to the bustling supper club scene of the 30s and 40s. The lavish restaurant is decked out with plush armchairs, glowing chandeliers, and unique art. Stepping into Delilah, you’ll immediately be greeted by a troupe of female entertainers dancing to boisterous live jazz. Eat, drink, and dance the night away. The American fare is sure to get your taste buds tingling with servings of local stone crab, coconut-spiced ceviche, and bacon-crusted Faroe Island salmon. Cheers to the good life.

January is all about New Year’s resolutions and “new year, new me” mantras. Many of us also choose to undertake the Dry January challenge to detox from a December full of partying. Luckily, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in Miami that support the cause, with new mocktail menus springing up left and right. Copper 29 Bar, renowned for its craft cocktails, is no exception. Here’s what they’ve got on the menu for us this month: the Lychee Martini Mocktail is crafted with a tropical blend of lychee puree, pineapple, and cranberry juice; while the Exotic Mojito Mocktail features the classic Mojito culprits plus a refreshing addition of passion fruit puree and pineapple juice for a sunny burst of flavors. Stop by Copper 29 Bar any day of the week and sip away on the mocktails with zero guilt.
Copper 29 is located at 206 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL 33134. For more information, visit their official website.
Another restaurant revamping its menu with new and exciting cocktails is the Tea Room. The Tea Room is Brickell’s Asian restaurant known for the city’s only Asian Night Brunch, an $88 experience featuring a five-course dinner and two hours of free-flowing wine, champagne, prosecco, beer, and now mocktails! On the menu, find wholesome dishes like dumplings en brodo crafted with wild mushrooms and truffle cheese and crab rangoon made with blue crab and cream cheese in a coconut-mustard sweet chili sauce. Pair that with truly ground-breaking mocktails like Red Silence, crafted with nonproof tequila, guava, hibiscus, citrus, and Thai chili; or Zero to Hero, made with nonproof whisky, blood orange, rosemary cordial, and vegan egg whites.
The Tea Room is located at 788 Brickell Plaza, Miami, FL 33131, United States. For more information, visit their official website.

Take a stroll through the gardens, and you might even spot a cacao tree yourself, with ripe fruit ready for picking. You can buy a cacao tree to plant in your home garden, too!
