Casa Isola

Casa Isola is one of the hottest tickets in town thanks to its delectable Italian cuisine. Everything on the menu is delicious, but if you had to narrow it down, these selections should make your shortlist: the Isola arancini, the rigatoni alla vodka, and the veal chop parm. That last one is a monster and can last a few days – it’s a tremendous value.

CJ’s Crab Shack

As you can probably guess from the name, crab is the star of the show at this iconic Ocean Drive restaurant. CJ’s Crab Shack offers it in spades: Alaskan king crab, snow crab, crab cakes… You name it. You can’t leave without trying the snow crab dinner with its one-and-a-half pounds of tasty meat seasoned with Old Bay – it’s a classic. Non-crab highlights include the fried shrimp, fish ane chips, and seafood pasta.

Hiyakawa

For an unforgettable upscale dining experience, Hiyakawa is a must. There’s no one dish that you should try – you should try it all. One of the easiest ways to do that is to opt for the restaurant’s signature tastings, which provide guests with a little bit of everything. It’s not cheap, but this is one of the few spots in Miami that’s worth splurging on.

Khaosan Road

If you like spicy food, Khaosan Road is the place for you. The Coral Gables Thai eatery serves up delicious food with a kick; they definitely don’t hold back in the spice department. No meal is complete unless it includes an order of the restaurant’s beloved Angel Wings—some of the best chicken wings in town. 

The red curry, the volcano shrimp, and the pad Thai should also be on your radar. Can’t make it for dine in? It’s just as good for takeout, but consider placing your order through their website for a discount.

Lobster Shack

Like its sister restaurant CJ’s Crab Shack, Lobster Shack is predominantly focused on one protein – in this case, lobster. With two convenient locations on Miami Beach, you’re never too far away from the eatery’s signature lobster roll. If it’s your first time here, the traditional roll should be top of mind. But if you’ve been here a few times, then venture out of your comfort zone with variations like the cajun lobster roll or claw lobster roll. Make sure to try the clam chowder, too.

Rosie’s

Overtown favorite Rosie’s recently moved to new digs in Allapattah, but guests can still expect the same high-quality Southern cuisine at the larger space. The fried chicken, fish and grits, and pastrami hash are all highlights on a menu full of flavor and value. And to help you wash everything down, Rosie’s now sells beer and wine. You’ll never want to leave.

The Wagyu Bar

When you’re looking for high-quality steak, The Wagyu Bar will hit the spot. The unassuming Coral Gables establishment boasts a mouthwatering menu of cuts for all sorts of palates. You can never go wrong with ribeye and picanha here, and the dry-aged selections are something special if you feel like being adventurous; we’re partial to the Kansas steak. The menu can seem a little overwhelming, but the friendly staff will happily help you find your ideal steak.
