Miami’s restaurant scene isn’t taking a summer vacation. From a historic landmark reborn as a Mediterranean hideaway to an Italian food hall, late-night taco spot, all-day cigar lounge, and a cocktail bar that’s already giving Wynwood another reason to stay out, these are the newest openings worth making room for on your calendar.
Eos Garden
Restaurants open every week. Historic landmarks rarely get a second life. Eos Garden has accomplished both, breathing new purpose into Miami’s historic Water Pump House.
Hospitality veteran Ilyas Ortatepe and Chef Halit Avuka, whose backgrounds stretch from Istanbul to New York and Miami, have created a space where the building does much of the storytelling. Original architectural elements remain intact, now framed by breezy, leafy courtyards and stunning interiors. It’s an atmosphere that invites guests to slow down—a fitting match for a structure that’s spent decades watching the neighborhood evolve.
In the kitchen, Mediterranean traditions from Greece, Turkey, Anatolia, and the Levant paint a menu that’s all about those vibrant flavors we all know and love. Tables begin with colorful meze such as muhammara, taramasalata, and carrot tarator, before moving toward dishes like smoky Adana kebab, char-grilled lamb chops, whole grilled branzino, and a rich Aegean-style moussaka. A thoughtfully assembled list of Turkish wines adds another layer of discovery, introducing bottles that remain surprisingly uncommon on Miami wine lists. One last tip: make sure to try the caramelized milk custard for dessert. Oof.
Eos Garden is located at 5808 NE 4th Court, Miami, FL 33137. For more information, visit their official website.
La Terraza Nicabanos
There truly aren’t many places in Miami where the day begins with eggs Benedict and ends with Japanese wagyu, a Negroni, and a cigar beneath the stars. That’s the lane La Terraza Nicabanos has chosen, quietly settling into the Coral Rock House in South Beach with an all-day format that’s unconcerned with convention.
The open-air restaurant masterfully flows with the passage of time. Here, European-inspired breakfasts like tortilla de patatas, croque monsieur, and Belgian waffles with fresh fruit arrive alongside coffee and fresh juice until 10:30 a.m. Come evening, the focus turns to fire, with a steakhouse menu built around American Prime beef and authentic Japanese wagyu, rounded out by a handful of seafood-forward dishes and Mediterranean starters that let the ingredients do most of the talking.
Classy is the name of the game here through and through. Expect lush greenery, warm lighting, and an elegant cigar lounge in a space that feels worlds away from the bustle of Washington Avenue. Guests are welcome to settle in for dinner, recline over cocktails, or simply enjoy a fine cigar long after the last course has disappeared.
La Terraza Nicabanos is located inside Coral Rock House at 936 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit their official website.
Mister O1 Coral Gables
Gone are the days when grabbing one of Mister O1’s signature star-shaped pizzas meant crossing town. Somehow, despite becoming one of Miami’s most recognizable homegrown restaurant success stories, the cult-favorite pizzeria never made it to Coral Gables. That’s finally changed.
The Michelin-recognized concept has opened on Alhambra Circle, bringing Chef Renato Viola’s playful approach to pizza to one of the city’s busiest dining districts. Since debuting in Miami Beach, Mister O1 has built an almost fanatical following around slow-fermented dough, high-quality Italian ingredients, and pies that look just as memorable as they taste. One bite—and there’s no wondering why.
Of course, first-timers should start with the restaurant’s calling card: the star luca, whose pointed crust is stuffed with creamy ricotta before surrounding a center of tomato, mozzarella, spicy salami, and fresh basil. Those looking for something less traditional can opt for the coffee paolo, an unexpectedly successful combination of gorgonzola, spicy salami, honey, and finely ground coffee that has become one of the menu’s most talked-about creations. Trust us on this one. Fresh burrata, crisp salads, calzones, and dessert pizzas round out the lineup, making it easy to understand why loyal fans have been lobbying for a Coral Gables address for years.
Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza is located at 110 Alhambra Circle, Coral Gables, FL 33134. For more information, visit their official website.
Tacos Atarantados
In Brickell, dinner often serves as little more than a warm-up for whatever comes next. Tacos Atarantados has embraced that rhythm, opening its second Miami location with a taquería that works just as well for a quick midday bite as it does for the inevitable taco craving after midnight.
The Monterrey import arrives on South Miami Avenue alongside Sala de Despecho, creating a one-two punch of tacos and nightlife under the same roof. Already a hit in Wynwood, the concept has earned a loyal following for bringing Northern Mexico’s street food traditions to Miami without holding back on personality. Loud cumbias, spinning trompos, and an atmosphere that refuses to take itself too seriously set the tone from the moment hungry foodies walk through the door.
On the menu, find expertly carved meats, with trompo de puerco, trompo de res, and suadero taking center stage. If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, try the cachetadas—a flour tortilla layered with a crisp cheese crust and yogurt-chipotle spread before being piled high with fillings like ribeye or campechana. Heartier plates such as the pirata atarantado, gaoneras, and the aptly named abrazo de rib eye round out the savory side, and each order comes with a slew of salsas you’ll probably be dreaming about for days to come. All in all, Tacos Atarantados seems to have every craving and mood covered, and then some.
Tacos Atarantados is located at 1250 S. Miami Ave., Miami, FL 33130. For more information, follow them on Instagram.
Upside Wynwood
There’s a new kid on the block. And that kid is Upside. Wynwood has never been short on places to grab a drink, but finding one that works just as well at 5 p.m. as it does five hours later is another matter. That’s the sweet spot Upside is chasing, opening with an easygoing formula of strong cocktails, chef-driven snacks, and a soundtrack that turns up the energy as the wee hours roll around.
Drop in for happy hour, meet friends before dinner, or stay sipping long enough for the DJs to take over—the room will definitely adapt. Bold lighting, contemporary design, and an open layout keep the atmosphere lively, but it’s just as appealing for conversations with your date as it is for a late-night round with the crew.
Behind the bar, cocktails are having all the fun. She’s Salty gives the classic margarita a lighter twist with a cloud of salt foam, while Main Character Energy blends orange-infused tequila, mezcal, and crème de banane into one of the menu’s more adventurous pours. The kitchen, led by Top Chef alum Pablo Lamon, offers plenty of snacks between rounds, which are definitely a notch above your typical bar fare. Think wagyu poke nachos with pickled shallots, house-smoked fish dip, and 100% lobster nuggets with ginger aioli. Oh my. Add a bomb happy hour, a lineup of DJs, listening sessions, and rotating cultural events, and Upside feels poised to become the go-to spot for all the cool kids.
Upside is located at 59 NW 28th St., Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
Zuccaly
While Coral Gables may have no shortage of Italian restaurants, choosing between fresh pasta, pizza, grilled seafood, or a quick espresso has usually meant picking one place over another. Zuccaly plans to eliminate that dilemma altogether, introducing the city’s first Italian food hall to The Plaza Coral Gables.
The ambitious project comes from the Da Silva Hospitality Group, the family behind the longtime favorite Zucca, and transforms 8,000 square feet into a bustling marketplace inspired by Italy’s piazzas. Rather than centering around a single kitchen, Zuccaly divides the space into six stations, each dedicated to a different corner of Italian cooking. Epicureans can wander between freshly made pasta and risotto, Roman-style pizza al taglio, charcoal-grilled meats and seafood, seasonal salads, house-made gelato, and a gastro market stocked with everything from vitello tonnato to ready-to-bake lasagna and cannelloni.
Chef Manuel Garcia, who has led the kitchen at Zucca for nearly a decade, oversees the culinary program, bringing experience from Michelin-starred restaurants in France to the more casual format. One highlight is LaBiga, where long-fermented dough produces airy Roman-style slices with a crisp exterior and a deeply developed bite. Italian cocktails, espresso drinks, and a weekday happy hour complete the picture, making a trip to Italia possible without leaving the 305.
Zuccaly will open at 111 Palermo Ave., Suite 112, Coral Gables, FL 33134.
