AVA Coconut Grove and Emissary are hosting a cocktail class where coffee nerds and cocktail lovers can get behind the bar and learn the art of the joe-laced classic. The class lands at Emissary on Tuesday, August 18, from 7–9 p.m. Guests will learn about the coffee behind the cocktail, get a hands-on lesson from AVA’s head mixologist, then stick around for drinks, savory bites from AVA, and sweet treats from Emissary.

Uchi’s Summer Dinner Series Gets an Ecuadorian Twist
This Thursday, Uchi Miami in Wynwood is handing over the kitchen to Chef Alejandra Espinoza of Cotoa, a recent Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient, for the latest installment of its intimate Summer Dinner Series. For $150 per person, guests can settle in for a ticketed multicourse dinner where Espinoza’s progressive ecuadorian cooking meets Uchi’s nontraditional japanese style. It’s the kind of chef collaboration that makes for a seriously fun night of eating, especially if you’re into discovering what happens when two very different culinary worlds get thrown into the same kitchen.
The one-night dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20. Tickets are $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and reservations are required.
