Wednesday, July 31: Omakase Dinner at Ogawa
Enter the serene world of Ogawa, nestled in Miami’s Little River, where every meal is a poetic homage to Japanese culture. Recently receiving its first Michel star, Ogawa invites you on an unforgettable culinary journey. Behind the sushi bar, Master Chef Masayuki Komatsu and Chef Royce “Gaja” Appling artfully blend fresh seafood flown in daily from Japan into exquisite works of art.
Complement the marine delights with Suntory Whiskey, Premium Malts beer, or a meticulously curated sake and wine selection by Sommelier Luis Martinez. Ogawa’s intimate 24-seat setting, adorned with nihonga paintings and sublime pottery, ensures a feast for both the eyes and the soul. After your meal, wander into the secret garden curated by ikebana artist Akiko Iwata, where tranquility and beauty merge. Secure your reservation and step into a world where culinary artistry and cultural reverence harmoniously intertwine.
Thursday, August 1: Miami Spice at RED South Beach
This Thursday, August 1, is the kick-off of Miami Spice. Miamians eagerly await the two-month culinary event for the entire year. It’s the ultimate time to hit up all those top-tier restaurants you’ve been wanting to go to and enjoy a 5-star meal for a fraction of the price. We’ll be making our first stop at RED South Beach, of course. RED has been taking part in Miami Spice for as long as we can remember, and we just can’t get enough.
This year the acclaimed steakhouse is rolling out a series of rotating weekly menus, like the RED Classics. Diners can mix and match their perfect 3-course dinner with appetizers like roasted bone marrow with a bacon-jalapeno jam and a toasted baguette. For the main course, there’s the certified Angus beef sirloin strip with truffle whipped potatoes, green beans, and maitre d’butter. Then, for dessert, diners can indulge in heavenly blueberry-cream cheesecake. Rumor has it Chef Peter Vauthy learned this recipe from his grandmother when he was only 4 years old! Reservations are highly recommended.
Friday, August 2: Miami Spice at Mignonette
Join us for another day of Miami Spice at Mignonette, a chic Downtown eatery revered by Miami’s foodies for its exquisite oyster and seafood options. Mignonette is joining the festivities with dinner service priced at $60 per person, and there is surely some irresistible marine fare on the menu.
Mignonette stands out from the usual Miami Spice crowd by offering diners the choice of choosing almost any item off their regular menu, with the exception of a few dishes. Appetizer highlights here include the chargrilled oysters with charred chilis, butter, panko, and roasted garlic. For the entree, we’ve got our eyes set on the fancy Florida black grouper served with a charred Maque choux and apple brandy gastrique. Then, for dessert, there’s the divine Heath Bar bread pudding accompanied by a cayenne whipped cream.
Mignonette is located at 210 NE 18th Street, Miami, FL 33132. For more information, visit their official website.
Saturday, August 3: Dinner at Primo’s
Join us for dinner this Saturday at one of our new favorite Italian spots in town: Primo’s. Located inside the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay, this intimate restaurant offers a casual yet elegant dining experience. Our favorite part? Primo’s is open until 1 a.m. — one of the few restaurants serving up truly delicious cuisine till the wee hours.
On the menu, find an array of those beloved Italian-American classics elevated to new heights thanks to the restaurant’s homemade pastas, sourdough pizzas, and flatbreads, and a curated wine list to accompany it all. Start your meal off with the crispy fried wild calamari and zucchini served with spicy marinara. Then, for the perfect date night, go for the Primo’s Boscaiola pasta which requires a minimum of two orders — that’s rigatoni served in a ground beef sauce with the restaurant’s specialty meatballs, mushroom, tomatoes, and cream. Delish.
