Monday, July 21: Monday Tasting Menu at Paya

- -

Where we’re eating this week: Paya in Coconut Grove. Mondays aren’t usually the star of the week, but Paya flips the script with a $50 tasting menu that feels like a private dinner party thrown by your coolest friend. The three-course, ten-dish lineup starts light—think coconut wahoo ceviche, green papaya salad, and tempura shishito peppers—then swerves into savory indulgence: truffle brie grilled cheese, sweet corn pavé, prime skirt steak, and more. It’s all served family-style, making it low-key social and super satisfying.

The final flourish? A knockout Brugal 1888 rum cake that’s rich, boozy, and worth every bite. The setting blends lush tropical warmth with laid-back elegance, and the playlist hums with seductive energy. You’re sipping something crisp, sharing plates, and forgetting it’s a Monday. It’s one of the best dining secrets in the Grove—and the best reason we’ve had in a while to look forward to the start of the week.

Wednesday, July 23: Late Night Happy Hour at Paperfish Sushi

- -

When the city slows down, Paperfish heats up—a sleek fusion of Tokyo nightlife and Miami energy, perfect for late-night cravings. Their Late Nite Happy Hour serves up killer deals on bold Nikkei flavors, from crispy rice piled high with fresh tuna to spicy hamachi jalapeño rolls for $7.95.

Start light with shishito peppers miso, or dive straight into the dragon roll. Sip on an Italian La Vis La Vis Pinot Grigio for only $6.95 or get adventurous with their signature lychee martini. Feeling extra? Don’t miss the silky salmon tiradito with passionfruit, a luxurious bite that elevates any late-night feast for only $7.95. Perfect for sharing or solo indulgence, Paperfish turns up the flavor when Miami’s after-hours scene calls.

Thursday, July 24: National Tequila Day at Bar Kaiju

- -

If you’re the type to chase tequila with a twist, mark your calendar for July 24—National Tequila Day—and head straight for Bar Kaiju. Tucked above The Citadel’s food hall chaos, this low-lit Little River hideaway isn’t just slinging shots; they’re bending cocktail rules. The must-try is the Crystal Clear Espresso Martini made with Milagro’s Cristalino Añejo. It looks like water, hits like coffee, and lingers like a dream. There’s no other version of this in Miami—and no gimmicks, either.

Kaiju’s monster-themed menu is smart, strange, and full of surprises. While there’s no food upstairs, just take the stairs down for snacks galore. But honestly? You’ll be too busy dissecting what just hit your palate.

Bar Kaiju is located at 8300 NE 2nd Ave, 2nd Floor, Miami, FL 33138. For more information, visit their official Instagram

Friday, July 25: Cheese & Wine at Carpaccio

Instagram

For a chic way to honor National Wine and Cheese Day, Carpaccio is it. Nestled in the luxurious Bal Harbour Shops, this Italian gem offers an elegant ambiance perfect for savoring rich flavors alongside a curated wine list. We’re starting our feast with their burrata antipasti—creamy imported mozzarella paired with prosciutto and roasted peppers, an ideal cheese starter to pair with a glass of red or white. For mains, the quattro formaggi pizza brings mozzarella, feta, fontina, and parmigiano melted over a crisp crust, perfectly cheesy and utterly satisfying.

Don’t miss the Il Carpaccio – Manzo featuring filet mignon topped with arugula and shaved parmigiano—delicate and luxurious, echoing the classic wine and cheese vibe and showcasing Carpaccio’s true prowess. Top it all off with a decadent ricotta cheesecake to finish on a sweet, creamy note.
