Tuesday, June 18: International Sushi Day at Kissaki
Run, don’t walk to Kissaki on this International Sushi Day. The new Japanese hotspot has been celebrating sushi all month long with a multitude of contests, promotions, and educational events. They also shine the spotlight on a new specialty roll each week, and this week the hamachi and yellow pepper roll takes center stage, made with crispy cucumber and chives.
Wait for the best part, though—Kissaki is celebrating to the fullest with half off all rolls only this Tuesday. That means you can order to your heart’s content signature rolls like salmon and ikura, hamachi and yellow pepper, and the tuna lover for as little as $10.50! That’s not all, though, classic rolls like the salmon or spicy tuna can be enjoyed for as little as $5.50, and don’t forget about the loaded futomaki with options like the crispy soft shell crab priced at $10 only this International Sushi Day. So, mark your calendar and roll into sushi heaven!
Friday, June 21: Dinner at Grand Central
While the Grand Central Burger has already won over the hearts of many of us 305 foodies, this just in: the lobster ravioli is giving it some heavy competition. But we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves here. First and foremost, Grand Central is a charming little restaurant, an alleyway width, with exceptional renditions of American classics executed flawlessly by Chef Nuno Grullon.
We’re making it all about seafood this Friday, so we’re starting with the appetizers. The crab cake here is an absolute must. It’s a golden-fried delicacy where jumbo lump crab meat and Calabrian oil tango with cream corn, baby arugula, and cherry tomatoes. You don’t want to miss it or the melt-in-your-mouth salmon crudo nestled beneath paper-thin radishes and crispy garlic. Now onto the lobster ravioli, which we’re willing to bet is better than at any Italian restaurant in town. The secret—fresh hand-made pasta sheets oozing with Maine lobster and paired with the luxuriousness of Osetra caviar and cognac. See you there.
Saturday, June 22: Lunch at CJ’s Crab Shack
Get ready, folks, because we’re diving back into seafood heaven this weekend! We’re rallying a few friends and making a beeline to CJ’s Crab Shack on Ocean Drive for the ultimate oceanfront feast. Picture our table piled high with shells, claws, and tails—a seafood lover’s paradise! First, let’s get peelin’ with the Shack’s infamous beer-drunk shrimp cooked in cajun spices, then let’s make our way to the crispiest possible fried popcorn shrimp.
For the main event, CJ’s Cajun Combo will give those having a hard time deciding what to get a little taste of everything—2 clusters of old bay seasoned snow crab, baked oysters, cajun shrimp, and a crab cake served with your choice of fries, pasta alfredo, veggies, or parmesan corn on the cob. We’re quite partial to the latter. All that’s left to make this a perfect Saturday is a few pitchers of CJ’s famous daiquiris. Let’s toast to good company, mouthwatering seafood, and the perfect oceanfront experience!
Sunday, June 23: Breakfast at Havana Harry’s
For nearly 30 years, Havana Harry’s has been a must-visit spot in Miami for authentic Cuban cuisine. Since 1995, it’s been praised globally, appearing in top publications like Condé Nast Traveler and the Michelin Guide. Today Havana Harry’s continues to captivate foodies with its heartfelt cooking and inviting ambiance.
This Sunday we’re waking up nice and early because we already have the utterly indulgent Havana Harry’s breakfast spread in mind. From 8 a.m. until noon, feast on everything from traditional Cuban toast paired with cafe con leche to signature specials, including a vaca frita breakfast sandwich made with mozzarella, sweet plantains, and cilantro sauce on Cuban bread. If you have a sweet tooth for breakfast, the torrejas Havanas is a must—soft French baguette cooked French toast-style and drizzled with sweet rum pudding sauce. Oof. Cap off your meal with nearly 40 delectable desserts, featuring Cuban classics like flans, tres leches, and rice pudding, alongside cakes, and six irresistible Overdose Milkshakes. These larger-than-life treats, reminiscent of a sugar-fueled fantasy, cater to every diner’s inner child. Indulge in the Tres Leches Overdose, a dulce de leche ice cream milkshake adorned with tres leches cake, dulce de leche drizzle, and meringue. We can’t think of a more perfect start to Sunday morning.
