October 1 is International Sake Day, and Sushi By Bou, the hidden gem at Arlo Wynwood, is bringing the heat. This fresh new speakeasy-style omakase spot is celebrating in true sake-sipping style. Guests who drop the secret code “SAKEDAY” while booking on Open Table will get a complimentary round of sake at any seating that evening. Starting at 5 p.m., with the final toast at 10 p.m., the vibe is all about raising your glass with a spirited “kanpai!” while you dive into a timed omakase adventure, serving up the freshest sushi in the game.
Nestled within the edgy Higher Ground bar on Arlo Wynwood’s third floor, Sushi by Bou fuses speakeasy cool with 90s hip-hop flair, from graffiti walls to velvet decor. This is omakase like you’ve never seen before—where beats and bites flow together effortlessly. Make your reservations here.
Sushi by Bou is located inside of Arlo Wynwood on the third floor; 2217 NW Miami Court, Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
We’ve waxed poetic about La Natural before — their sustainably sourced ingredients, wood-fire-kissed pizzas, and impeccable selection of natural wines have put this spot on top of our dining-out list. Not to mention, it earned the pizzeria the Bib Gourmand recognition several years in a row.
La Natural does a lot more than just pizza, though, and their plates are worth taking a separate visit for. This Thursday, find us feasting on sweet papaya with Cantabrian anchovies and a dash of calendula vinegar; escarole paired with fish sauce and smoked pepperoncino; and radicchio served in a pandan leaf oil. Almost all the plates are gluten-free, meaning you can even bring your friends who don’t partake in pizza. The more, the merrier—we recommend getting several plates to share. Plus, a glass of natural vino to round off the perfect meal.
Friday, October 4, marks National Taco Day, and you’ll surely find us feasting on some scrumptious ones at Brickell‘s hottest gem—Barsecco. This global-inspired restaurant has a concise menu of fusion tacos that are done right. From Wagyu Asian street tacos loaded with sweet glazed wagyu strip steak and creamy red cabbage kimchi served in a crispy gyoza shell to Baja chicken tacos packed with grilled chicken, smoked bacon, and melty cheese. Sure, these may not be your traditional tacos, but we guarantee you’ll be coming back weekly for an order.
Here’s a little secret: it may be Friday night, but Barsecco is still keeping it lit with amazing Happy Hour deals. Make sure to come before 8 p.m. and get your Baja chicken tacos plus some fresh lime margaritas for only $9 each.
We’ve been raving about Primo’s as the go-to spot in Downtown Miami for stellar Italian cuisine, but this cozy restaurant also does a mean weekend brunch that features more American classics. Join us this Sunday morning as we get our brunch on inside the charming restaurant inside DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay.
Specialties here include banana bread, French toast with brandy caramel butter, and waffles with wild berries for those who have a sweet tooth early on in the day. Salty specialties include grilled skirt steak and eggs, Chef’s smoked salmon breakfast with corn fritters and poached eggs, or an American biscuit filled with bacon, fried egg, and melted cheese. We can’t wait.
