Sometimes, all you want is dessert and a drink or two—no need for a full meal. When that happens, you can trust these six eateries to hit the spot:
You can’t write a dessert list in Miami without mentioning Bachour, the renowned establishment from internationally acclaimed pastry chef Antonio Bachour. The restaurant is a dentist’s nightmare and your sweet tooth’s dream; the selections are so colorful that you can’t help but stare in awe.
Expect to find a large assortment of delights like strawberry and mascarpone croissants, tropical rice pudding tarts, cookies, cream macarons, black forest bonbons, and so much more. A wide range of wine and beer will help you wash everything down.
Bachour is located at 2020 Salzedo St., Miami, FL 33134. For more information, visit their official website.
Café La Trova is one of the nation’s top bars, so their drinks rarely need an introduction. That said, if it’s your first time, start with a Magic City Daiquiri and work your way through the colorful cocktail list, which includes signature items like a maduro old-fashioned and a “Yin & Tony.” (You can probably figure out what it is.). Save room for some churro waffles or the ever-popular Michy’s bread pudding; you must experience the latter at least once.
Café La Trova is located at 971 SW 8th St., Miami, FL 33130. For more information, visit their official website.
KYU’s commitment to bold, Asian-inspired flavors extends to their dessert menu and cocktail list. The Wynwood restaurant is renowned for its famous Mom’s coconut cake; it’s so delicious and simple. If coconut isn’t your thing, the black cardamom doughnuts, as are the dark chocolate smores, are worth a taste. Drinks-wise, the Wynwood Mule is a classic that never disappoints, and the Good Morning, Vietnam! the espresso martini is dessert in a glass.
KYU Miami is located at 251 NW 25th St., Miami, FL 33127. For more information, visit their official website.
If there’s one dessert you must have at Michael’s Genuine, it’s the restaurant’s beloved cookies; always ask about the day’s selections. The cookies here have garnered critical acclaim; all it takes is one bite to find out why. For something more substantial, you can’t go wrong with the milk chocolate cremoso or the strawberry shortcake. As for libations, the carefully curated wine list here is the star, but it’s the bulletproof Manhattan that has had us coming back for years.
Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink is located at 130 NE 40th St., Miami, FL 33137. For more information, visit their official website.
RED South Beach embodies Miami Beach’s energy with its stylish setting – a setting that’s the perfect backdrop for a martini. With its truffle olive brine, the Double Dirty will impress even the most discerning martini drinker.
Other standouts here include the Cardboard Plane, a Four Roses-forward affair that’s a crowd-pleaser. Wine lovers will also find plenty to love with dozens upon dozens of bottles up for grabs (and sometimes with hefty discounts).
To satisfy your sweet tooth, there are many tasty options, but there are two that are a cut above the rest: RED’s New York cheesecake and key lime tart. Either one will end your meal on a high note.
Toscana Divino exudes elegance, from its refined Italian dishes to its impressive wine and dessert selections. While we write a lot about the restaurant’s tantalizing pastas, the after-dinner delights deserve just as much praise. You’ll find several traditional treats, with the tiramisu being the main attraction. Pair it with a dessert wine or from one of the many, many bottles that Toscana Divino has available. This is another place with an impressive wine list—you’ll want to take an Uber here.
