Some of us are fortunate enough to have an expense account or corporate card through work. If you fall under that category, there are some places you should keep in mind for entertaining clients, treating your coworkers, or just indulging yourself. These are those places:
The second you lay eyes on Bayshore Club, your jaw will drop. The beautiful Coconut Grove restaurant is right up on the waterfront, providing one of the best views in the neighborhood (and Miami in general). Once you’ve picked your jaw off the floor, get ready to use it again on fun fares like local Florida rock shrimp, roasted whole snapper, low country shrimp and grits, coconut chicken and rice, and smoked wahoo fish dip. Even if you don’t feel like eating, just come by for a cocktail—you need to check out this view.
Bayshore Club is located at 3391 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133. For more information, visit their official website.
When it comes to seafood, crab is one of the costlier proteins. So, if you have a corporate card burning a hole in your wallet or purse, splurge at CJ’s Crab Shack. Don’t let the Ocean Drive location fool you: This is not a tourist trap—it’s the real deal. First time here? You have to do the snow crab dinner, which comes with a pound and a half of crab legs (and Old Bay if you ask nicely); it’s the perfect entry point. Once you’ve checked that off your list, the Alaskan king crab and crab cake dinner are also worth a look when you come back … and you will come back.
Key Biscayne’s Costa Med is one of the more isolated restaurants on this list, so if you’re looking for a little privacy, they’ve got you covered. Stop in solo, with your peers, or with a client for a fantastic Mediterranean feast. The menu has a little bit of everything, so your table should have no problem finding something to their individual tastes. A few dishes to keep an eye on: steak tartare, mushroom pappardelle, seared scallops, skirt steak, and chicken rotolado. But honestly, everything is good.
High-end French cuisine awaits you at LPM Restaurant & Bar, a Brickell favorite. Prepare to drop a pretty penny on your meal, but also prepare to have an unforgettable experience. Some items to keep on your radar: the burrata, the ratatouille, the salmon carpaccio, the salt-baked red fish, and the marinated lamb cutlets. Everything is super refined—LPM is a well-oiled machine. If there’s only one drink you try, make it the restaurant’s famous tomatini. It’s a bestseller for a reason.
LPM Restaurant & Bar is located at 1300 Brickell Bay Drive, Miami, FL 33131. For more information, visit their official website.
There’s one name that always comes up in a conversation about Miami steakhouses: RED South Beach. The South of Fifth institution is home to one of the largest steak menus in town, from rib eye and filet mignon to porterhouse and bone-in Kansas City strip. Beyond steaks, RED South Beach boasts impressive chops, pastas, salads, and raw bar selections. It’s a one-stop shop for quality cuisine. No matter what you order, make sure to include a side of Red’s signature—and life-changing—mac and cheese. And that wine list will blow your mind.
Champagne and oysters are the perfect pair and Seawell Fish N’ Oyster has no shortage of either. The Washington Avenue hotel restaurant’s raw bar and alcohol selections are hard to beat, as are its flavorful dinner offerings. Among the many highlights: the Rhode Island lobster roll, the octopus tacos, the South Beach fish and chips, and the blue cab and roasted corn salad. Working on the weekend? Pop in for brunch selections like the smoked salmon bagel, Canadian ham benedict, crispy cornmeal oysters Rockefeller and the cannoli cream-stuffed French toast.
