La Màrtola

The Best New Restaurants in Miami [June 2024] - Bondi Sushi, JARANA, La Martola, new restaurants, Osumi Cocktail & Sushi Bar, RedFarm - November 2024

Drawing inspiration from the culinary treasures of the Italian, French, and Spanish Rivieras, La Màrtola is Buena Vista’s newest gem that’s quickly becoming a local favorite. The minimalist yet chic interiors provide the perfect backdrop for a culinary journey that leaves you eagerly awaiting each course. Start with delightful appetizers like local heirloom tomatoes with goat cheese or Iberian ham with crispy chips. A standout is the Neapolitan-style pizza, especially the Portonovo, adorned with buffalo mozzarella, ricotta, and mortadella, all topped with pistachio and orange zest. The menu also features wood-fired meats, fish, and vegetables, perfectly complemented by an extensive wine list. The best part? The gelato al fior di latte is curated by gelato maker Simone Bonini. Create your own treat by pouring fresh espresso over the gelato, and then add toppings of your choice.

La Màrtola is located at 4702 NE Second Ave., Miami, FL 33137. For more information, please visit their official website

This new collection features menu highlights such as miso black cod, Wagyu gyoza with pastrami and ponzu, and rock shrimp tempura served with chili aioli. You’ll still find favorites like the signature air-fried crispy rice with spicy tuna, lobster yuzu, salmon, yellowtail, or truffle avocado. Additionally, indulge in Bondi Sushi’s renowned 12-piece omakase and 16-piece delivery combo boxes. Wondering what happened to the notorious Mr. Moe’s space in Coconut Grove? It’s now home to RedFarm, a celebrated New York transplant specializing in elevated Chinese cuisine. The space has transformed into a modern, relaxed hotspot, with an entryway adorned with eye-catching Mallard decoy ducks. Here, you can indulge in dim sum, noodles, and Peking duck, which is so good that China’s Central TV has hailed it as the best outside of China. Beverage director Shawn Chen’s inventive cocktail menu features libations like the El Sabio—a captivating mix of Gran Centenario Reposado, ancho reyes, ginger, grapefruit, and Kaffir lime, topped with yuzu foam. Don’t miss the shrimp and snow pea leaf dumplings, the three chili chicken with Yaki-Soba noodles and vegetables, and “Ed’s” pastrami egg rolls, which are even more addicting when dipped in a creamy honey mustard sauce. Finish your RedFarm feast—because you will have leftovers—by ordering the ice cream sandwiches in flavors like coconut, chocolate, strawberry, and pistachio.

JARANA Peruvian Restaurant & Pisco Bar

Experience the vibrant essence of Peru’s dining culture brought to life at JARANA Peruvian Restaurant & Pisco Bar, nestled in the heart of Esplanade at Aventura. The restaurant’s concept is inspired by the vibrant and lively atmosphere of a traditional Peruvian jarana (meaning spontaneous celebration), where abundant food, soulful music, and spirited libations come together in celebration. Each dish is an homage to Peruvian flavors and ingredients, like the tiradito bachiche featuring hamachi, Parmesan, leche de tigre, avocado, chalaca, and olive oil, and the tuna wantacos—three wonton tacos with Nikkei-style tuna tartare, avocado, and aji amarillo sauce. Pair your meal with a pisco-forward cocktail, and let the vibrant flavors transport you to the streets of Peru, all while savoring the lively energy of Miami.
