This Week in Miami: July 27-August 2

Each week, we round up what’s worth your time right now—from new menus and pop-up moments to festivals, openings, and low-key excuses to go out on a weeknight. Consider this your curated snapshot of the city as it moves through the week ahead: where to eat, what to drink, and what’s quietly (or loudly) happening around town.
All Week Long
Tacos, Margaritas & Tulum Vibes
If your weeknight dinner rotation needs a little help, Jacinta de México just delivered. The Aventura hotspot has launched a full lineup of weekly specials, but Taco Tuesday is the one we’re circling first. Every Tuesday, every taco on the menu is just $5, alongside $5 beers and $10 margaritas, with guests marking their orders on paper just like at a traditional Mexico City taco stand. Thursdays bring Tulum Vibes & Bites, where candlelight, DJs, and complimentary margaritas for guests dressed in white turn dinner into a full-on vibe. Add a $26 three-course weekday lunch and weekday happy hour with half-off drinks, and you’ve got plenty of reasons to head north this summer.
Jacinta de México is located at 19501 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura, FL 33180. For more information, visit their official website.

Learn to Make Fresh Pasta With an Italian Sfoglino

Forget another dinner reservation. This week, roll up your sleeves instead. Donna Mare Italian Chophouse has brought back its intimate pasta-making classes led by Italian-born sfoglino (artisan pasta maker) Massimo Iannuario, who learned the craft growing up in Cremona before cooking in Michelin-starred kitchens. Held Tuesday through Thursday at 6 p.m., each night features a different pasta: tagliolini cacio e pepe on Tuesdays, tagliatelle alla bolognese on Wednesdays, and gnocchi al pesto on Thursdays. The experience includes a welcome glass of prosecco, hands-on instruction, and a three-course dinner featuring the pasta you just made. At just six guests per class, it’s one of the most intimate culinary experiences in Miami, and we’re so there. Reservations are open on Eventbrite.
Donna Mare is located at 3921 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140. For more information, visit their official website.

National Lasagna Day Calls for the Real Deal

Sure, you could heat up a frozen lasagna—or you could celebrate National Lasagna Day the way the Italians intended. Head to Ironside Pizza on Wednesday for the lasagna bolognese, layered with slow-simmered meat ragù, creamy béchamel, and plenty of parmigiano. While the Upper Eastside favorite is best known for its wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, its handmade pastas deserve just as much attention. Pair your meal with a glass of Italian wine, and you’ve got yourself one cozy midweek dinner that reminds you why simple Italian food never goes out of style.

Free Cheesecake Is Rolling Through Brickell

Cancel your afternoon snack plans. To celebrate National Cheesecake Day on Thursday, July 30, Sexy Fish Miami is taking one of its most iconic desserts on the road. From 4:30-6:30 p.m., the restaurant’s golf cart will cruise around Brickell handing out complimentary mini vanilla cheesecakes topped with strawberry and golden lime sorbet while supplies last. Delightfully over-the-top and completely free, it’s exactly the kind of Miami pop-up we can get behind. Keep your eyes peeled—you never know when free cheesecake might roll by.

Escape to the Mediterranean at Costa Med

This Friday, join us for dinner at Costa Med in Key Biscayne, which honestly is starting to feel a little more Amalfi than Miami. Tucked away in the island village, this neighborhood favorite serves Mediterranean classics in a charming European-style bistro setting, making it one of the city’s best spots for a leisurely dinner. Order the Tuscan-style beef carpaccio to start, move on to the creamy homemade lobster ravioli, then linger over a bottle of wine and il dolce. It’s the kind of place that reminds you vacation mode doesn’t always require a red-eye flight.

End the Weekend With Free Jazz by the Beach
Wrap up the weekend with an oceanside concert on Ocean Drive. Every Sunday at 6 p.m., The Betsy Hotel partners with the Ocean Drive Association to present the free Promenade Concert Series in Lummus Park, and on August 2, Miami vocalist Amy Arlo joins guitarist Jaui Schneider for an evening of live music just steps from the sand. Bring a picnic blanket or lawn chair, settle onto the grass, and enjoy one of Miami Beach‘s best free cultural events. If summer showers roll in, the concert simply moves inside The Betsy’s elegant lobby, so the music plays on either way.
The concert takes place in Lummus Park between 14th Street and 14th Place, outside The Betsy Hotel, 1440 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach, FL 33139. For more information, visit The Betsy’s official website.
