This Week in Miami: March 16-22

Each week, we round up what’s worth your time right now—from new menus and pop-up moments to festivals, openings, and low-key excuses to go out on a weeknight. Consider this your curated snapshot of the city as it moves through the week ahead: where to eat, what to drink, and what’s quietly (or loudly) happening around town.
A Sundae Tower Worth Sharing at Maple & Ash

Childhood desserts are getting a grown-up comeback. At Maple & Ash Miami, it arrives in towering form. Chef Danny Grant’s over-the-top Sundae Tower is a playful nod to the kind of movie-night treats he grew up with—the kind where melting candy bars, hot fudge, and toasted coconut turned dessert into a full event between beloved movie scenes. The restaurant’s version is fully committed to the spirit of indulgence. Scoops of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream stack high beneath a cascade of toppings: peanut butter sauce, chocolate-covered pretzels, gummy bears, and bright Luxardo cherries. It’s nostalgic, a little chaotic in the best way, and clearly designed for the table to share.
Maple and Ash is located at 699 NE 1st Ave, 2nd Floor, Miami, FL 33132. For more information, visit their official website.
Il Mulino New York Marks 20 Years With a Fresh Look

Two decades in, Il Mulino New York – Miami is turning the page with a full renovation at Acqualina Resort & Residences in Sunny Isles Beach. The longtime Italian fine-dining destination recently unveiled its redesigned space during a celebratory evening that included a festive “pasta-cutting” ceremony led by president Brian Galligan and Acqualina CEO Debra Yager. Inside, the refreshed dining room blends classic Il Mulino elegance with softer coastal touches—sand-toned walls, velvet booths, rich wood accents, and colorful murals nodding to Italian culture. Alongside the redesign comes a refined seasonal menu layered with familiar signatures, from crudos such as the tuna tartare with apple, celery purée, and black truffle to house classics like the ravioli ai porcini with champagne truffle cream, and ossobuco with porcini sauce and saffron risotto.

A $100 “Golden Glizzy” Lands at the Miami Open
Stadium food is going full Miami this year at the Miami Open. One of the tournament’s buzziest bites is the Golden Glizzy, a $100 Wagyu hot dog created by local shop Chèvre that is full-on luxury. The over-the-top snack starts with an Australian Wagyu sausage tucked into a custom croissant bun from Ficelle Bakery, then gets layered with crème fraîche, a full tin of Golden Goat caviar, and a finishing sprinkle of edible gold. It’s exactly the kind of indulgence that thrives in a champagne garden setting—the Golden Glizzy will be served exclusively from the Golden Goat Caviar Ventanita, tucked inside the Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Garden. The lounge-style space pairs plush seating with a lineup of cuvées designed to complement the caviar-forward bite, along with playful champagne floats from Aubi & Ramsa. The Miami Open runs through Sunday, March 29.
The Miami Open takes place at Hard Rock Stadium, 347 Don Shula Dr., Miami Gardens, FL 33056. For more information, visit the event website.
