Dish Miami: Where Miami’s Most Compelling Businesses Stay Top of Conversation
Erin Lavan, founder of Dish Miami

Miami moves fast. New openings, new trends, new everything—every single week. The businesses worth knowing deserve more than a moment. They deserve a publication that shows up for them consistently, tells their story with intention, and keeps them top of mind long after the buzz fades. Not a one-time feature that disappears into the feed, but an editorial partner that stays in their corner on social, in search, and in the conversation, week after week.

Not a review aggregator. Not a hype machine. Editorial coverage with a simple, ongoing mission: keep the businesses we believe in top of conversation, and bring them new customers.

From table to trends, serving what’s haute.

A Pandemic, a Purpose, and the Birth of Dish Miami

Dish Miami was born in 2020, during one of the most difficult stretches the restaurant industry has ever faced. When dining rooms went dark and foot traffic disappeared overnight, Erin Lavan saw restaurants struggling to stay relevant with no way to reach the people who loved them most.

She built Dish Miami to change that: to give restaurants a consistent editorial voice when they needed it most, coverage that kept them top of mind even when their doors were closed and kept their communities connected to the food and the people behind it. What started as a response to a crisis became something far more lasting. Dish Miami is rooted in the belief that great businesses deserve great storytelling, not just when they open, but every week after.

Then Miami Grew. And It Didn’t Stop.

What happened next, nobody could have predicted. Or maybe Miami could have.

The city exploded. New residents arrived from every corner of the country and the world, bringing new cultures, new cuisines, new energy, and an appetite for everything Miami had to offer. The restaurant scene diversified and deepened. New neighborhoods came alive. And alongside the dining boom came something bigger: a full lifestyle renaissance.

More fitness studios. More wellness concepts. More salons, spas, and aesthetics practices doing genuinely innovative work. More experiences, events, and spaces designed to bring people together. Miami wasn’t just a place to eat anymore. It was a place to live, fully and intentionally.

And with all of that growth came a real challenge for the businesses driving it: in a city adding this much, this fast, how does anyone find you?

So We Expanded Into the Lifestyle Editorial Miami Was Missing

The audience Dish had built was curious, engaged, deeply Miami, and already asking about more than dinner reservations. They wanted to know where to work out, where to get a facial, where to spend a Saturday, where to invest in themselves and their city.

We listened.

Dish Miami expanded beyond dining into a full lifestyle publication covering wellness and beauty, fitness, experiences, and real estate, because the businesses shaping Miami’s culture across every category deserve the same consistent, quality coverage we built our reputation on. We’re a team of Miami locals, natives, and curators who know this city intimately and can tell its story in a way that resonates with the people who live it.

This isn’t broad coverage for a general audience. It’s specific, insider, and trusted, exactly the way Miami’s best businesses deserve to be represented.

Always Evolving. Always On.

The way people find businesses changes constantly: search behavior, social formats, algorithms. Dish evolves with it. We build current SEO and AEO (answer engine optimization) keywords into everything we publish, create social content that performs without ever feeling like an ad, and deliver consistent coverage across web, Instagram, TikTok, and newsletter. Not a launch moment. A long-term presence. Because in Miami, the biggest threat to a great business isn’t the competition. It’s being forgotten.
