Re-opening after a long quarantine rejuvenation is Miami’s MILA. The restaurant’s aesthetic is on point from start to finish. Reclaimed wooden furniture, handmade linens, and a substantial water feature set a serene mood amidst the luxurious yet zen surroundings. It’s the perfect marriage of chic glamour and wabi-sabi, with South Beach skyline views. The spacious rooftop normally hosts up to 250 people and has been bustling with nightlife during its pre-COVID days. The expansive space will naturally follow safe social distancing measures while still providing Miami’s culturists with an engaging, lively vibe.

MILA took the time to completely revamp their menu, changing 99% of the dishes to suit Miami’s globe-trotting locals, who, for the time being, are not on long-haul flights. While borders are still closed, MILA’s concept is to take diners on a journey from the Mediterranean’s sophisticated coasts to idyllic Japan and back.

The scene is not just about the fare — it’s the overall ambiance, full of chill-out music, high-end deco, out-of-this-world cocktails, and yes, of course, the mesmerizing food. The menu will include select cuts of wagyu beef imported directly from Japan, foie gras and uni diver scallops, truffle rossejat, and a carefully crafted fusion of MediterrAsian maki, amongst other delicacies. The entire experience is one for the senses. At MILA, both dishes and cocktails are prepared directly in front of guests, providing them with a theatrical experience steps up from the typical Hibachi joint. We’ll leave the rest to the imagination. Miami influencers who aren’t at MILA on a Friday night with a signature Sun Salutation cocktail in hand, you may want to reconsider your choices.
