This Week in Miami: May 11-17

Each week, we round up what’s worth your time right now—from new menus and pop-up moments to festivals, openings, and low-key excuses to go out on a weeknight. Consider this your curated snapshot of the city as it moves through the week ahead: where to eat, what to drink, and what’s quietly (or loudly) happening around town.
A New Menu at Cervecería La Tropical

Cervecería La Tropical refreshes its food program with the return of Chef Cindy Hutson as consulting chef, bringing a lighter, more produce-driven direction to the brewery’s Caribbean-inspired menu. The updated lineup introduces more than 15 new dishes that balance brighter flavors with the kind of comfort-forward plates the space already does so well. There’s still room for indulgence—like the tamarind BBQ smoked jerk chicken pizza layered onto a brewer’s barley malt crust—but the overall tone feels fresher, with additions like vegan stuffed poblano, rotating ceviches, and seafood dishes including seared tuna tataki with mango salsa and pan-seared salmon with cilantro crema. Make it part of your weekly routine to catch the cervecería’s rotating weekly specials, too.
Cervecería La Tropical is located at 42 NE 25th St, Miami, FL 33137. For more information, visit their official website.

World Cocktail Day at Rosa Sky
For those looking to celebrate World Cocktail Day this Wednesday, Rosa Sky remains one of Brickell‘s strongest midweek happy hour plays. Sitting high above the city skyline, the rooftop blends panoramic views, upbeat music, and a crowd that always seems ready to stay longer than planned. Happy hour runs from 4:30-7 p.m. and features a lineup of $10 specialty cocktails, including the signature Rosa Sky with strawberry and lemongrass vodka, the espresso-heavy #NoSleep, and the tropical Mexican Kiss made with Patrón Reposado and passion fruit. There’s also a rotating selection of mini martinis, wines, spirits, and zero-proof cocktails for lighter sipping. To pair, guests can order shareable bites like skirt steak tacos, buffalo chicken empanadas, tuna poke, and crispy Cuban “cigars,” making it an easy spot to settle into as the sun drops behind the Brickell skyline.
Rosa Sky Miami is located at 115 SW 8th St, 22nd Floor, Miami, FL 33130. For more information, visit their official website.
Two Wine-Focused Dinners in the Design District

The Bastion Collection lines up a pair of structured wine dinners this month, with sister restaurants L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Le Jardinier each hosting one-night-only collaborations in the Design District, centered around heritage producers and chef-led tasting menus.
On May 13, L’Atelier partners with Domaine La Bouche du Roi for a six-course dinner built around wines tied to the historic Versailles region, once poured for the royal court of Louis XIV. Executive Chef James Friedberg shapes the progression through dishes like diver scallop, halibut, and crispy duck breast, ending with a mango caramel mille-feuille designed to mirror the wines’ mineral-driven structure and freshness. Reservations here.
The following evening, on Thursday, May 14, Le Jardinier shifts focus to Napa Valley with a dinner in collaboration with Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, marking the 50th anniversary of the Judgment of Paris. The experience includes a vertical tasting of S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon guided by winemaker Marcus Notaro, paired with a five-course menu featuring dorade crudo, diver scallop, lamb saddle, and beef short rib. Both dinners lean heavily into storytelling and precision, offering less of a standard wine pairing and more of a fully built culinary narrative for the evening. Reservations here.

A Birthday Celebration at Sweet Paris

Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café turns 14 this month, and for the first time, the brand is stretching the celebration far beyond a single day. Across its South Florida locations in Coral Gables, Downtown Doral, and Miami Worldcenter, the café is rolling out a limited-time birthday menu that’s all about funfetti-and-sprinkles, with over-the-top creations designed to feel a little extra in the best way. Think birthday cake milkshakes with Nutella-lined rims, cloud lattes topped with cupcake cold foam, funfetti waffles, and a dessert-style crêpe layered with sweet cream, strawberries, and graham crumbs. Yum. The main event lands on Saturday, May 16, when the first 100 guests at each location will receive curated swag bags, alongside additional in-store activations teased throughout the day.

National Pinot Grigio Day at Carpaccio
National Pinot Grigio Day lands on Sunday, May 17, which feels like the perfect excuse to stretch lunch a little longer at Carpaccio. By now, the restaurant has become one of those rare Miami institutions that still feels timeless: glamorous without trying too hard, always buzzing, and somehow equally suited for a casual midday glass or a drawn-out Italian feast under the palms. A crisp, mineral-driven pinot grigio fits naturally into the rhythm here. Start with the salmon carpaccio layered with arugula and parmigiano, or the classic mozzarella caprese, before moving into pastas like the linguine nettuno, served with an array of fresh seafood. Wood-fired pizzas, grilled fish, and classic Italian mains round out the menu. The crowd at Carpaccio has always understood the art of lingering. National Pinot Grigio Day just gives everyone a slightly better excuse.
A New Sunday Day Party at Magie Wine Bar
Magie Wine Bar shifts away from the usual brunch routine with the launch of Tu Casa Sundays, a weekly daytime hang now running at both its Little River and Coconut Grove locations from 1-9 p.m. The vibe is house party. Think micheladas, mimosas, lawn games, music, and casual pop-ins unfolding throughout the afternoon. There’s also a hot dog bar from Proper Sausages that pushes things firmly into comfort-food territory, alongside rotating activations and small surprise additions that keep the setup from feeling too fixed week to week. No reservations, no dress code, no push to turn the table. See you there!
Magie Wine Bar has several locations. For more information, visit their official website.
