What to do in Miami This Month

January 10: National Oysters Rockefeller Day at CJ’s

Celebrate National Oysters Rockefeller Day at CJ’s Crab Shack, Miami’s go-to spot for the iconic seafood delicacy. Born in New Orleans over a century ago, Oysters Rockefeller—a rich blend of butter, herbs, and breadcrumbs—was invented as a creative swap for escargot. Luckily, Miamians don’t need to head to Antoine’s to savor this classic—CJ’s delivers a version that’s just as indulgent. Grab a seat on the terrace, soak in the ocean breeze, and dive into a plate of these buttery, herbaceous baked oysters. It’s a slice of culinary history, served with a side of Miami vibes.

January 11 and 12: Dry January Michelin Style at Le Jardinier

Start Dry January in style at Le Jardinier, where zero-proof cocktails meet Michelin-starred dining. Sip on creations like Le Bloom (French Bloom Brut, elderflower, lemon, mint) or the tropical Ananas (toasted rice, pineapple, lime), all while savoring health-conscious vibes. On January 11 and 12, enjoy their weekend specials: a 3-course lunch ($39), a 4-course dinner ($85), or a Sunday brunch ($59). Plus, guests are treated to a complimentary glass of non-alcoholic French Bloom champagne.

Le Jardinier is located at 151 NE 41st Street, Suite 135, Miami, FL 33137. For more information, visit their official website.

January 15: Women in Wine at RED South Beach

Step into an unforgettable evening at RED South Beach, where wine and storytelling unite to celebrate the incredible women redefining the world of wine. Savor the journey across three distinct vintages: the vibrant finesse of Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc, the rustic charm of Nicole Chanrion’s Côte de Brouilly, and the rich heritage of Brown Estate’s Napa Valley Zinfandel. Each glass is perfectly paired with Chef Peter Vauthy’s delectable appetizers. Guests can also enjoy early access to RED’s exclusive Wine Locker Program and special bottle discounts. Secure your spot now for this extraordinary celebration.

Saturday, January 25, marks National Fish Taco Day. If you thought tacos were only about carnitas and barbacoa, think again. Fish tacos bring some heavy competition to the meatier classics, and there’s one place we know that does them justice: the Lobster Shack in Miami Beach. On the menu, you will find fried fish tacos and seared tuna tacos loaded with jalapeno cole slaw, pico de gallo, avocado, and the shack’s special house sauce. Pair the tacos with guava jalapeno margaritas or craft beer for the ideal meal.

January 29: National Gnocchi Day at Primo’s

Wednesday, January 29, is all about gnocchi as National Gnocchi Day rolls around, and you’re bound to find us at Primo’s in Downtown Miami, where the gnocchi is made fresh in-house. Diners can choose to pair their potato gnocchi with aromatic Genovese pesto or a rich Bolognese sauce—both to die for. Guests stopping by for lunch can also indulge in the gnocchi contadina—fresh potato gnocchi cooked with pork cheek, peas, and pink vodka sauce. Oof.

Veganuary at La Natural

#DishHitList: Dry January, Jazz Wednesdays, and more [January 2025] - #DishHitList, Bar Tulio's, Barsecco, CJ's Crab Shack, Kissaki, La Natural, Le Jardinier, Lobster Shack, Porterhouse, Primo's, RED South Beach, Tipsy Flamingo - January 2025

Celebrate Veganuary with us at La Natural. The first month of the year is known for New Year’s Resolutions and often goes hand in hand with healthy living and detoxing. La Natural is that place that makes bomb food yet keeps it guilt-free. Here, wood-fired pizza is made with naturally leavened, 48-hour cold fermented dough and topped with pure ingredients. If you’re looking to indulge in their vegan options, go for the tomato sauce and garlic confit pie and sides like garbanzo beans with English peas and mint or butter lettuce with zhug and Meyer lemon, to name a few.

Happy Hour at Kissaki

Kissaki, the Miami Beach gem, brings the glam with chic lounge vibes, sultry beats, and a seriously impressive happy hour. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., indulge in umami-packed bites like crispy truffle fries, momo yakitori, and spicy tuna crispy rice drenched in soy butter. Don’t forget the refreshing Kissaki salad with watercress, tempura, and tangy yuzu-miso dressing. For maki lovers, try the salmon roll in plum soy or the unagi roll with shrimp and avocado, ranging between $5 and $12. See you there!

Jazz Wednesdays at Porterhouse

Porterhouse has been our favorite new hangout, and it’s hard not to stop by every single day of the week as the events at this music bar and restaurant just don’t stop. Wednesdays, in particular, are known for jazz here, so if you’re as much of a jazz fan as we are, you’ll want to stop by around 9 p.m. for soulful melodies and refreshments to match. As you enjoy the melodic sax sounds, indulge in bites like coconut fried shrimp with apricot glaze or truffle flatbread pizza. As far as sips go, the bar boasts an impressive menu of wines, bubbles, artisan bottles, Japanese whisky, and much much more to fit the jazzy vibe.
